Role Description

The Analytics Engineering team is part of the Data Engineering organization, which builds reliable and trusted data sources and tools that enable timely and accurate data-driven decision-making. The team sits at the intersection of data engineering, data science, and business analytics, transforming raw data into actionable insights through solid pipelines, scalable data models, and intuitive tools. The focus is on data quality, reliability, and usability, ensuring stakeholders can trust and leverage data to drive real business impact.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the analytics engineering team by hiring, mentoring, and growing team members who collaborate closely with product and data science teams.
• Develop deep product expertise, ensuring the team understands product data and builds targeted data marts and tools solving business problems.
• Leverage AI and large language models (LLMs) by investigating their impact on analytics and building data foundations supporting AI-driven analytics.
• Unlock the commercial value of data by building scalable models, optimizing data pipelines, and integrating cross-product data for better decision-making.
• Directly deliver business impact through creating dashboards, ad-hoc analytics, and self-service tools empowering product teams.
• Prioritize outcomes over tools by using appropriate frameworks and technologies, developing abstractions, internal data apps, and improving scalable workflows.
• Bridge the gap between business and data by liaising between product data science, product management, and central data engineering, ensuring the use of central data tools with agility.

Requirements

• Leadership experience building and managing analytics engineering or data teams.
• Hands-on technical expertise with ability to balance hands-on work and strategic leadership.
• Expertise in data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and modern data stack tools such as Airflow, DBT, Snowflake, Hex.
• Familiarity with engineering best practices including version control (GitHub), CI/CD, modern development workflows, object-oriented programming, building scalable frameworks, and advanced SQL.
• Creative, detail-oriented, resourceful problem solver who embraces complex and ambiguous challenges.
• Forward-thinking on AI and LLMs in analytics, including prompt engineering and design.
• Autonomy and accountability in driving outcomes.
• Strong product and business understanding with experience collaborating with product and data science teams.
• Clear and influential communication skills.
• Strong statistical foundation to interpret data and support data-driven decisions.

Pay Range: $207,485 — $244,100 USD annually, plus target bonus, equity, and benefits.
