Details
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. The Applied AI Architect on the Startups segment will partner with founders and engineering teams at startups to architect LLM solutions, run technical evaluations, and help startups build on the Claude Developer Platform from early product to scale. This is a technical, customer-facing role working closely with Account Executives, Sales, Product, and Engineering to guide customers from initial technical discovery through deployment and expansion.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Account Executives to deeply understand startup requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and serve as a trusted technical advisor throughout the Claude adoption journey from initial evaluation through deployment and expansion
- Win technical evaluations by helping startups develop evaluation frameworks to measure Claude's performance for their use cases
- Build technical credibility with founders and engineering teams by understanding their build patterns and guiding architecture decisions
- Gather insights on how startups are building with Claude, identify emerging use cases and deployment patterns, and deliver feedback to Product and Engineering teams
- Travel to customer sites, startup-focused events, and industry conferences for workshops, technical deep dives, and relationship building
Requirements / Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in technical customer-facing roles such as Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, or technical founder with founder-led sales experience
- Experience working with startups or high-growth technology companies and understanding their velocity and constraints
- Strong builder credibility through software engineering or technical founder experience
- Deep technical proficiency building and scaling AI products, with hands-on experience building and deploying LLM-powered applications in production
- Expertise in context engineering, evaluation frameworks, and modern AI architectures
- Comfortable with Python and familiar with common LLM frameworks, tools, and integration patterns
- Strong technical communication skills and ability to translate complex AI concepts into actionable guidance for founders and engineering teams
- Track record of selling technical products in competitive markets
- Passion for making technology safe and societally beneficial
Compensation and Logistics
- Annual salary range: €190,000 - €215,000 EUR
- Location: Dublin, Ireland
- Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
- Location-based hybrid policy: staff expected to be in one of Anthropic offices at least 25% of the time
- Visa sponsorship: Anthropic states they do sponsor visas and retain an immigration lawyer to assist
