Details

Airbnb's audiovisual team builds, operates and maintains the company's global video production and large-scale audiovisual (AV) infrastructure in event spaces, collaboration hubs and large specialty conference rooms across offices worldwide. The team partners with Infrastructure builds, live production crews and the office of the CEO to deliver reliable AV systems for meetings and large events.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee design, build, commissioning, and maintenance phases of 30–100 person multipurpose spaces, boardrooms and large conference room AV systems in coordination with external AV consultants and integrators.
  • Research and develop new AV technologies and innovative designs; build and test proofs of concept (including exploration of AI technologies).
  • Work closely with IT builds project management throughout design and build phases.
  • Assist in the design and operation of broadcast-grade AV infrastructure for large-scale event spaces supporting audiences of 100–1,000 people.
  • Perform hands-on lab tests, proof-of-concept evaluations, and broadcast studio commissioning.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed to commission and test systems at global offices.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in AV system design, integration and implementation, with emphasis on design for reliability and supportability.
  • Qsys programming and commissioning (control, UI and DSP programming/troubleshooting). Camera tracking experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Zoom Rooms as a VC platform (commissioning, administration, testing and troubleshooting).
  • Experience with broadcast AV systems (video cameras, video switchers, digital audio mixing consoles, and SDI/IP backbone infrastructures).
  • Programming and troubleshooting digital signal processing systems (QSC, Biamp, Yamaha, etc.) and Dante networked audio routing and configuration.
  • Expert troubleshooting skills across audio, video, network and control systems.
  • Ability to create AV schematics and to document technical and end-user materials (as-builts, runbooks, troubleshooting guides).
  • Working knowledge of IP networking design and troubleshooting, including basic switch configuration and VLANs.
  • Ability to assess, identify, manage and mitigate risk across complex systems.
  • Project management experience: plan, coordinate and drive progress with cross-functional teams.
  • Based onsite daily in San Francisco; this role requires availability to work onsite at Airbnb’s 888 Brannan St headquarters at least 4 days a week.

Pay Range

  • $136,000—$160,000 USD
