Bloomberg Intelligence (BI) delivers independent, data-driven research and interactive datasets integrated into the Bloomberg Terminal, helping investment professionals make decisions faster. BI provides company, credit, industry and strategy research across major global markets, covering 135+ industries and 2,000+ companies. Research and datasets are delivered through curated Terminal dashboards and interactive research decks, with underlying data typically one click away, drawing on proprietary Bloomberg sources and 600+ data contributors.

Role overview

The Associate Analyst – Technology will support the franchise with financial modeling, generating insights, writing, and conducting investment research for AI companies (including Alphabet, Meta and other frontier LLM peers). Analysis will be based on company financial data, Bloomberg datasets, industry-leading data, financial models, issuer calls and announcements. The role emphasizes data aggregation, quantitative analysis, model maintenance, written research and the use of automation and generative AI to improve workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Actively contribute to daily research activities: data aggregation, financial modeling, written research and idea generation
  • Monitor and interpret major company developments and identify macro themes and industry trends
  • Manage significant data analysis and modeling responsibilities; synthesize results, draw conclusions and develop concise narratives
  • Review submitted research for adherence to global quality standards
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal Bloomberg departments and external company, industry and data professionals
  • Participate in department-wide special projects and work with data and core business groups to enhance content and functionality across the Terminal
  • Interact with clients via Bloomberg online messaging systems
  • Use generative AI, machine learning tools and automation to improve research workflows, data discovery, modeling and content development

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably Finance or related)
  • At least two years of financial market research or industry-specific subject matter experience with demonstrable research and analytical skills
  • Proficient industry knowledge of the Technology sector and a deep understanding of advanced finance/accounting concepts, practices and procedures
  • Solid experience performing quantitative financial analysis, including financial statement analysis and modeling
  • Ability to spot anomalies in financial data and think critically about data inconsistencies
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • High curiosity, attention to detail, strong organization skills and the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills
  • Commitment to enhancing and developing products and willingness to adopt new technologies (including generative AI and automation) to build repeatable workflows and improve research efficiency and quality

We'd love to see:

  • CFA designation and/or MBA degree (or graduate education)
  • Experience using Python and/or visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik Sense)
  • Previous work experience with the Bloomberg Terminal

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: 100,000 - 120,000 USD Annual + Benefits + Bonus
