BloombergNEF (BNEF) is seeking a contractor to join the US power analysis team based in the New York office for a 6-month assignment. The role suits someone with a passion for energy markets, strong quantitative skills, and the ability to form and communicate original opinions. The position involves building and maintaining datasets and models, producing forecasts and research, and communicating findings to clients and internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Work with models to provide forecasts on the outlook for key power markets in the US
  • Build and maintain datasets and models to further understanding of short- and medium-term markets
  • Deliver both quantitative and qualitative research, utilizing the Bloomberg Terminal to develop research and analysis
  • Effectively communicate views and findings through reports, datasets, and client-facing tools
  • Identify topics of interest to clients, conduct research, and report findings in a timely manner
  • Develop and implement market products, data sets, forecasts, and tools
  • Collaborate professionally with colleagues from different cultures and countries

Requirements

  • Passion for energy markets and the energy transition
  • Strong quantitative skills and ability to analyze complex subjects
  • Experience building/maintaining datasets and working with models and forecasts
  • Ability to deliver both quantitative and qualitative research
  • Comfortable using the Bloomberg Terminal for research and analysis
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present findings to clients and colleagues
  • Teamwork and ability to work independently and show initiative

Contract & Compensation

  • Role: Contractor (contingent worker) — 6 months
  • Location: New York office
  • Salary Range: 35 - 40 USD Hourly
