Are you the Third Party Risk Specialist who not only executes but also contributes ideas on how ABN AMRO’s policy and framework should take shape? We are looking for someone who can operate at a strategic and policy level to help develop our Third Party Risk Management.

Procurement is a strategic partner for purchasing and supplier-related matters. In addition to standard procurement processes, you will be actively involved in partnerships between ABN AMRO and external organizations and play a key role in managing risks within third-party relationships. You know the market and stay informed about trends and developments within specific procurement categories. As an expert in third-party risk management, you play a crucial role with a focus on continuous improvement of ABN AMRO and strengthening the bank’s risk posture. This goes beyond security assessments: we are looking for someone who understands how to design, implement, and continuously improve a framework.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse risks in the supply chain and develop strategies to effectively mitigate these risks.
  • Design and deliver training programs on third-party risk management to improve employee knowledge and skills.
  • Implement improvements within procurement using agile methods; apply flexibility and innovation.
  • Coordinate change initiatives with internal and external stakeholders; balance diverse interests and communicate results to management.
  • Optimise processes focused on risk control and customer interests, and work closely with suppliers to manage risks effectively.
  • Report results to management and improve audit readiness and regulatory status.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience, including proven experience with:
    • Implementing and applying risk frameworks in organizations
    • Third-party risk monitoring and supplier management
    • Translating policy into processes and training stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with tools such as Excel and PowerBI.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in English and willingness to learn Dutch.
  • Ability to support colleagues and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement; deliver timely, high-quality results in uncertain or changing situations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal risk and control frameworks and improve audit readiness.
  • Experience working with procurement, supplier and contract risk management processes.

Working environment

  • Procurement is ABN AMRO’s central purchasing and supplier management department, responsible for objectives, market research, supplier selection, tenders, negotiations, and supplier and contract risk management after procurement.
  • You will work in a hybrid setup—both from home and at the Zuidas office in Amsterdam—in a team of 6 colleagues (90 in total for Procurement).
  • Procurement falls under Innovation & Technology, reporting to the CITO, and you will report directly to the Head of Supply Chain Risk.
  • Internal stakeholders include employees from all entities within the bank, including international branches and subsidiaries.

Benefits

  • Gross monthly salary: € 5.847 - € 8.353 (based on a 36-hour workweek, including holiday allowance and benefit budget).
  • Benefit budget of 11% of your salary (monthly payout if unused).
  • Five weeks of vacation per year, plus the day after Ascension Day and May 5th off; option to buy up to four extra weeks annually.
  • Personal development budget of €1,000 per year (can be saved up to €3,000).
  • Possibility to work from home (in consultation with your team and depending on your role).
  • Annual public transport subscription for free travel throughout the Netherlands.
  • Excellent pension scheme.
