Who We Are

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.

The Capital Markets team within Treasury-Finance supports Stripe’s mission by creating and leveraging efficient access to capital and financial markets. We source capital by developing and then executing the strategy for corporate and product-related financing transactions; we also manage global liquidity investments and mitigate interest rate and foreign exchange (FX) risk by developing and implementing risk-management strategies.

What You’ll Do

We’re looking for a creative, smart, and driven Associate to join our Capital Markets team. You will support core financing and investment activities of the team, help drive Stripe’s capital structure and capital allocation strategy, and deliver valuable insights from market analysis. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners across Treasury Finance, Investor Relations, Finance & Strategy, Accounting, Legal, Product, Data Science and beyond to execute on large projects.

You will

  • Support execution of debt capital market transactions
  • Produce and maintain financial models to forecast liquidity and credit position, funds available for investments, interest income and expense, etc
  • Manage the debt covenant compliance process, financial ratio calculations, and assist with filing obligations
  • Support operationalization and management of global liquidity investment programs
  • Help foster positive relationships with lenders, investment bankers, rating agencies, and financial advisors
  • Assist with stakeholder engagement activities, including lender meetings, calls, and events
  • Provide analysis and ideas to optimize Stripe’s capital structure and capital allocation
  • Monitor and report on capital markets, macroeconomic and industry trends
  • Build management observability and deliver data insights relating to areas of responsibility
  • Drive cross-functional projects in partnership with product, engineering, finance and/or legal teams
  • Support as needed other Capital Markets projects and initiatives

Who You Are

You must meet the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

  • 2-5 years of relevant corporate finance, leveraged finance, investment banking, credit or corporate treasury experience
  • Solid understanding of credit agreements, capital structures, and financial covenants
  • Familiarity with rating agency metrics, rating process and considerations
  • Understanding of macroeconomic trends and how they impact markets
  • Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to leverage data insights into a dynamic narrative
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with high attention to detail
  • Top academic performer and a quick learner capable of performing in an unstructured environment
  • High intellect and energy (exothermic), entrepreneurial, self-motivated, resourceful and strong work ethic

Preferred qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Math or equivalent and/or MBA from a strong academic institution
  • Knowledge or experience with broader fixed income markets, including FX, interest rate derivatives, etc
  • Interest in the payments sector

Hybrid work at Stripe

Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.

Pay and benefits

The annual US base salary range for this role is $136,000 - $204,000. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Additional benefits for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends.
