Details

Do you have strong analytical skills and the drive to turn complex risk information into clear decisions and tangible change? Are you comfortable challenging senior stakeholders, simplifying complex topics and implementing new ways of working? If so, we invite you to join ABN AMRO’s Strategic Risk Reporting team.

Responsibilities

  • Challenge and influence strategic decisions: bring a risk perspective to change initiatives and strategic decision-making, challenge assumptions constructively, and ensure that key risks, trade-offs and implications are clearly understood before decisions are made.
  • Create clarity from complexity: structure complex risk topics, translate data and expert input into clear insights, and create concise narratives for senior decision-making.
  • Turn discussion into decisions: manage stakeholders across Risk, Finance and business domains, align different perspectives, resolve open questions and agree on practical next steps under time pressure.
  • Improve execution and ownership: drive improvements in reporting products and processes, including standardisation, data quality checks, automation and clearer ownership.
  • Move from manual effort to smarter delivery: identify practical opportunities to use data, automation and AI-supported analysis to improve speed, quality and consistency while maintaining controls, transparency and human judgment.
  • Embed change that lasts: design, test and implement reporting improvements that are standardised, scalable and accepted by the people who need to work with them.

Working environment

You will report to the Head of Risk Reporting and work closely with a team of risk professionals who are building and improving Risk Reporting. The team sits within Strategic Risk Management and Risk Modelling & Analytics. You will collaborate with colleagues from Risk Reporting, other Risk departments, Finance, Data teams and senior stakeholders across the bank. The environment is dynamic, analytical and change-oriented: you will be expected to bring structure, challenge constructively and help move the organisation forward.

Requirements

  • Experience: around three years of experience in consulting or a financial institution, with proven exposure to structured problem-solving, stakeholder management and delivery in a complex organisation. The listing also notes 2+ years in the summary.
  • Education: a university degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Skills:
    • Structured problem solving, analytical storytelling, reporting, change implementation or risk-related topics.
    • Strong stakeholder management skills: able to engage different perspectives, constructively challenge assumptions from a risk perspective and make progress under time pressure.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics and create compelling written and visual materials.
    • Execution and innovation mindset: comfortable with change, able to move from analysis to delivery, and open to implementing AI-enabled ways of working responsibly.
