Details
At ABN AMRO, our strategy is to be a personal bank in the digital age. We offer a fully digital banking experience while strengthening personal contact with our clients. We are there for them during key moments in their lives.
We are looking for a Business Developer with a strong affinity for data to join our Credit Data Integration & Distribution team within Financing Solutions (FS). In this role you will work at the crossroads of data, business and IT—transforming complex credit data into actionable insights that drive better lending decisions. Beyond analysis and modelling, you will act as a key partner to stakeholders across the organization, helping them understand, use, and benefit from data while shaping how we deliver and improve credit solutions for our clients end-to-end.
As part of an interdisciplinary team of business developers and engineers, you will focus on how credit data is sourced, integrated, and shared across the organization. In the Credit Data Grid department you will combine business understanding with technical skills to make our data useful and easy to use. You will help turn complex data into practical solutions, supporting colleagues and helping the bank make better and faster credit decisions.
Responsibilities
- Participate in bank-wide change projects where credit data plays a key role (examples: redefining the definition of default (DoD), enabling significant risk transfers (SRT), developing early warning models (EWM) as part of NextGen Lending).
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather clear credit data requirements and translate them into tangible data deliveries and improvements.
- Perform analyses to gather and validate credit data requirements: assess data attributes needed by consumers, identify gaps.
- Support continuous improvement of the CDDS team and platform (for example by helping develop new tooling for data modelling, optimizing transformation logic and storage).
- Partner with architects to design smart, scalable data solutions that drive business value, while continuously improving the Credits Domain Data Model (CBDM) to ensure high-quality data, clear flows, and support for lending decisions and regulatory compliance.
- Take end-to-end ownership of data development projects including testing and release management, collaborating with data engineers and consumers to implement data solutions.
- Collaborate with the Analytics & AI team to create impactful data solutions on top of the CDDS.
- Proactively identify improvements by asking questions, challenging the status quo, and helping enhance processes.
Working environment
The Credit Data Grid department enables users of corporate credit information across the bank, including subsidiaries and international branches. You will contribute to the development and maintenance of the Credits Data Domain Store (CDDS) — a key application in the credit domain at ABN AMRO — integrating numerous data sources to deliver high-quality credit data products that empower internal stakeholders and enable (Gen) AI & Analytics solutions.
We are a dynamic and diverse team that values learning by doing, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement. The team works in a hybrid setup: English is the working language and team members spend at least two days per week together at the headquarters in Amsterdam.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience (business and data analysis preferred), ideally within banking or the credit data domain — or strong motivation to grow into this space.
- Analytical, detail- and solution-oriented with strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Hands-on experience with SQL and a solid understanding of data modelling (conceptual, logical, physical).
- General understanding of IT topics such as release management, testing, and tools like Databricks.
- Experience or familiarity with JSON for managing and creating data mappings (preferred).
- Ability to assess and validate data attributes required by consumers and identify gaps in existing data.
- Ability to adjust mappings, create build plans, and perform corrective maintenance on data products.
- A collaborative mindset and a strong sense of ownership; able to work with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders.
- Proactive attitude and eagerness to embrace change in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements.
We are offering
- Gross monthly salary based on a 36-hour work week (salary range shown on the vacancy page).
- Excellent pension scheme.
- Flexible working (working from home possible in consultation), ergonomic home office setup.
- Five weeks of vacation per year plus two mandatory days off; option to purchase up to four additional weeks.
- Five "Banking for better days" (extra days off for personal development or volunteer work).
- Development budget of €1,000 per year (can accumulate to €3,000).
- Annual public transport pass with free public transport throughout the Netherlands for business and private use.
