Role overview

You will join the Intelligence team, which collects and analyses threat information at the intersection of physical and digital security. The internship gives you ownership of a meaningful project with real impact and exposure to security, governance, and threat intelligence in a global bank. You will be supported by an experienced Intelligence Expert and have the freedom to shape your project.

Responsibilities

  • Centralize and streamline threat-intelligence data
  • Build a proof-of-concept linking external threat feeds to ING’s physical security systems
  • Analyze data to identify patterns, gaps, and emerging risks
  • Develop three concrete use cases to validate your solution
  • Create a risk profile for ING’s physical security infrastructure (2026–2028)
  • Improve governance and risk-related documentation

Requirements / How to succeed

Must-have skills:

  • Studying HBO-ICT (Cyber Security & Cloud or related)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Able to work independently
  • Interest in threat intelligence, automation, or security environments
  • Enjoys turning complex problems into practical solutions

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience with automation or data tools
  • Understanding of threat intelligence concepts
  • Interest in governance or process improvement
  • Familiarity with IT or physical security infrastructure

  • Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders
  • Enjoys improving processes rather than accepting inefficiencies

Important eligibility note:

  • During the duration of your internship at ING, it is mandatory to be enrolled at a Dutch university (or EU-university for EU passport holders).
