Role overview
You will join the Intelligence team, which collects and analyses threat information at the intersection of physical and digital security. The internship gives you ownership of a meaningful project with real impact and exposure to security, governance, and threat intelligence in a global bank. You will be supported by an experienced Intelligence Expert and have the freedom to shape your project.
Responsibilities
- Centralize and streamline threat-intelligence data
- Build a proof-of-concept linking external threat feeds to ING’s physical security systems
- Analyze data to identify patterns, gaps, and emerging risks
- Develop three concrete use cases to validate your solution
- Create a risk profile for ING’s physical security infrastructure (2026–2028)
- Improve governance and risk-related documentation
Requirements / How to succeed
Must-have skills:
- Studying HBO-ICT (Cyber Security & Cloud or related)
- Strong analytical skills
- Able to work independently
- Interest in threat intelligence, automation, or security environments
- Enjoys turning complex problems into practical solutions
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience with automation or data tools
- Understanding of threat intelligence concepts
- Interest in governance or process improvement
- Familiarity with IT or physical security infrastructure
Personal attributes:
- Structured and reliable
- Takes initiative and gets things done
- Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders
- Enjoys improving processes rather than accepting inefficiencies
- Handles complexity and ambiguity with confidence
Important eligibility note:
- During the duration of your internship at ING, it is mandatory to be enrolled at a Dutch university (or EU-university for EU passport holders).
