Dark Web Monitoring Team is a non-standard team of 7 people comprising data acquisition, engineering, and business-oriented minds. This team has originated from Nord Security Risk Management And Information Security Departments and recently was separated with the aim to create its own standalone cybersecurity products. Currently, this team is part of NordPass but at the same time maintains and develops various products together with other Nord Security brands, such as NordVPN and Surfshark. Our goal is to protect businesses and consumers from cyber threats by giving them an in-depth view of the surface, deep, and dark web, monitoring their brand health, and protecting their attack surfaces. Building cyber threat intelligence products is a new frontier in the cybersecurity world and we are on top of it! We want to make the internet safer by disrupting the criminal underground.

Responsibilities

  • Work with data extraction, manipulation, and analysis using Linux command line tools and query languages like SQL;
  • Analyze and research data breaches or other cybersecurity incidents;
  • Organize and maintain an archive of publicly available databases, ensuring that everything is recorded accurately and is easily accessible;
  • Help automate data ingestion processes;
  • Acquire stolen datasets from a variety of different sources.

Requirements

  • Have a general understanding of data mining techniques;
  • Having an interest in cybersecurity, cybercrime, and hacking;
  • Analytical thinking abilities, with a problem-solving mindset and knowledge of testing methodologies;
  • Ambition to learn and grow as a data acquisition professional;
  • Eagerness to work in a tech-driven environment.

Bonus Points For

  • Being comfortable working in a Unix environment and using basic Linux shell tools;
  • Knowledge of different databases and their query languages;
  • Experience extracting, manipulating, and analyzing large datasets.
