Details
Bloomberg’s Global Infrastructure, Data Center & Workplace Sustainability teams manage the performance of buildings and services worldwide, including mission critical datacenters. The Data Center Project Manager will manage the delivery of mission critical construction projects and strategic initiatives within the Bloomberg portfolio, overseeing design, construction, and commissioning of data center facilities and critical infrastructure systems while ensuring financial governance and alignment with organizational goals.
Responsibilities
Project Management
- Coordinate and manage meetings, documentation, and distribution of meeting minutes.
- Coordinate and manage the design process with vendors, consultants and internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate and manage the design, construction, and commissioning of critical systems including diesel generators, UPS systems, electrical switchgear, power distribution equipment, chillers, HVAC equipment, fire detection/suppression and building monitoring systems.
- Coordinate and manage the design, construction and commissioning of administration/office areas, warehouse and storage defined spaces.
- Coordinate and manage communication with internal departments including Engineering, Network Operations, Security and others.
- Manage all Data Center Facility documentation including plans, procedures and operations manuals for final turnover.
- Manage Data Center Facilities training during commissioning and final turnover.
- Coordinate and manage the testing and commissioning process to meet project requirements and goals.
- Prepare and manage presentations and reports detailing construction and budgetary progress to management.
- Assist in Data Center strategy and Real Estate site selection initiatives.
Program Management
- Engage diverse stakeholders (Engineering, Data, Corporate Technology, Security Operations, Corporate Finance, Sustainability, leadership) to align initiatives and program objectives.
- Assist in program and vendor management for design, build and operations of mission-critical infrastructure.
- Serve as stakeholder point of contact across the program lifecycle; manage expectations, prioritization and trade-offs.
- Develop strategic project plans, define scope with stakeholders, oversee timelines, deliverables and interdependencies across teams.
- Oversee program-wide risks, interdependencies and cross-team collaboration; act as escalation point and develop mitigation plans.
- Develop and maintain program plans, risk registers and communication strategies; monitor and report KPIs, milestones and deliverables.
- Facilitate program governance and prepare materials for steering committees and senior leadership.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives to optimize reliability, scalability and sustainability.
- Manage smaller strategic initiatives and programs valued between $100K–$5M.
Financial
- Prepare comprehensive budgets for capital and operational projects.
- Assist in management of department operational and capital improvement financials and governance.
- Coordinate and manage general contractor / construction manager processes and procurement including subcontractor procurement, leveling and award.
- Coordinate and manage equipment purchases (direct pre-purchase and contractor purchases).
- Manage budgets, financial governance, vendor purchase orders, invoices and cost tracking.
- Coordinate and manage change management processes including procedural developments and risk assessments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Architectural Engineering, or equivalent work experience of ten (10) years.
- Minimum five (5) years' experience working in the data center market sector.
- Financial Project Management and Governance experience greater than $50 million.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project.
- Experience and knowledge within a data center environment including Utility Systems, UPS Systems, Emergency Generator Systems, Electrical Distribution, Chilled Water Systems, Critical Air Handling/Conditioning Systems, Pre-Action Systems and Fire Alarm/Protection Systems.
- Experience reading and understanding Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) and Architectural plans and specifications.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10%.
Preferred
- Experience with real estate leases, transactions and commercial agreements.
- Experience with operation and maintenance of critical infrastructure and systems.
- Proficiency and understanding of data center IT systems including telecom networks, switches, routers, servers, storage, and cabling systems.
- Experience with Smartsheet, eBuilder, Trimble, Procore, Autodesk and other project/program management platforms.
- PMP certification.
- Sustainability and LEED experience.

Salary & Benefits
- Salary Range: 140,000 - 175,000 USD Annual + Benefits + Bonus
