Details

ABN AMRO Clearing N.V. (AACB) is looking for a data scientist to join our new RegTech (Regulatory Technology) team within our core Data Science team. This new team of data scientists will focus exclusively on developing data science solutions for regulatory reporting. Do you want to work in a data science team that operates within the financial markets and the clearing industry in an international environment? With our global network of offices in ten countries and close connections to all major exchanges, you'll have the chance to work with leading trading firms across four continents.

Your Job

RegTech is a fast-evolving field in the financial industry in which AACB wants to increasingly utilize data science capabilities to meet both our internal and external regulatory standards. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a new team and develop solutions in collaboration with professionals from different domains, such as engineering, legal, compliance, regulatory, and finance, within a diverse and multicultural environment. With 6.1 billion transactions cleared annually and peak volumes reaching up to 51 million transactions per day, AACB generates a substantial amount of data. The aim is to develop state-of-the-art technology that is scalable for both data volume and application purposes, supported by our existing infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand regulatory requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain ML models to enhance regulatory compliance and reporting.
  • Implement MLOps best practices, including CI/CD pipelines and model versioning, while developing monitoring frameworks to detect bias, drift, and data corruption in production models.
  • Continuously optimize models to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Monitor model performance and accuracy, and make necessary adjustments to optimize outcomes.
  • Introduce GenAI/LLM tools to support the RegTech vision.
  • Translate regulatory guidelines (EMIR, MIFID, and SFTR) into data science solutions while keeping up to date with data science developments in the regulatory space. AACB has the network and skills to support you in this endeavour.
  • Analyse large datasets and apply statistical techniques to extract meaningful insights that inform strategic decision-making related to regulatory compliance.
  • Document methodologies, processes, and results in a clear and comprehensive manner.
  • Communicate data concepts and insights to non-technical stakeholders effectively.

Your Profile

We are looking for the following criteria:

  • MSc or PhD in a STEM field e.g. Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, etc.
  • At least 2+ years of hands-on experience in developing and deploying production-ready data science solutions.
  • Proficiency programming in Python, experience with Git (preferably Bitbucket) and SQL/PySpark.
  • Solid theoretical understanding of machine learning techniques and statistics, with the ability to clearly explain data science concepts and ML models to business stakeholders.
  • Experience with productionizing ML models according MLOps principles (data drift, monitoring etc.).
  • Fluent speaking and writing in English.
  • Authorized to work in the Netherlands.

We are Offering

You will be able to gain a lot of knowledge of the financial industry and products and further develop your data science skills. We offer you excellent terms of employment and benefits:

  • A good monthly salary.
  • An additional benefit budget of 11%, with which you can buy flexible terms of employment.
  • 25 holidays with the option to purchase extra days through the benefit budget.
  • A personal development budget of € 1,000 per year.
  • An annual public transport ticket for unlimited travel.
  • A good pension scheme.
  • A position that offers a lot of opportunities for professional development.
  • Interesting work and challenging projects in a diverse and international environment.
