Details

We are seeking an exceptional and technically skilled Director to manage NVIDIA's Isaac for Healthcare Engineering initiative. This position entails constructing the platform that will influence how top healthcare robotics companies develop, simulate, train, and deploy next-generation physical AI systems. This is a rare opportunity to create foundational technology at the nexus of physical AI, robotics, and healthcare.

This position entails directing the technical approach, planning, and engineering activities for the Isaac for Healthcare platform. It includes NVIDIA technologies such as Isaac Sim/Lab for simulation and training, Holoscan for on-robot deployment, NVIDIA MedTech Open Models for pretrained medical AI, and synthetic data pipelines. You will collaborate closely with NVIDIA's principal healthcare collaborators, including healthcare robotics companies and MedTech pioneers. You will recognize their primary challenges and design platform features that enable their forthcoming product innovations.

Responsibilities

  • Platform leadership and full accountability for engineering strategy and roadmap for Isaac for Healthcare, including simulation environments, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, synthetic data generation, AI policy training, and real-time edge deployment on NVIDIA Jetson/IGX embedded platforms.
  • Recruit, mentor, and grow a team of engineers across robotics software, simulation, applied AI/ML, systems software, and clinical domain expertise; build a culture of technical excellence and ownership.
  • Serve as lead engineering interface for NVIDIA's healthcare collaborators (healthcare robotics OEMs and MedTech companies), translating partner requirements into platform features and joint engineering solutions.
  • Define long-term technical vision and architecture: simulation fidelity, AI model integration, data pipelines, safety validation frameworks, and on-device inference.
  • Coordinate with NVIDIA teams (Isaac Robotics Engineering & Research, Holoscan, MONAI, Omniverse, Embedded teams) to align platform strategy and infrastructure.
  • Influence product roadmap, developer experience, documentation, and release cadence with product management and business development.
  • Represent NVIDIA at healthcare robotics and MedTech conferences, engage with standards organizations, publish technical articles, and advocate for NVIDIA's platform position.

Requirements

  • 15+ years overall engineering experience, including 5+ years leading engineering teams in robotics, medical devices, autonomous systems, or AI platform development.
  • Proven track record building and shipping sophisticated software platforms or developer frameworks at scale, ideally spanning simulation, AI/ML, and embedded or real-time systems.
  • Deep expertise in one or more areas: robot perception and control, physics-based simulation, medical image analysis, medical robotics software, or real-time embedded AI inference.
  • Demonstrated ability to hire, grow, and retain senior engineers and engineering managers; experience scaling teams from single-digit to 20+ people.
  • Strong multi-functional communication skills to engage with research scientists, product managers, clinical collaborators, and C-suite partners.
  • Graduate degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related technical field, or equivalent experience.

Ways to stand out

  • Experience at a healthcare robotics company or a medical AI company with a background in physics-based simulation tools.
  • Practical experience with NVIDIA platforms such as Isaac Sim, Isaac Lab, Holoscan, NVIDIA MedTech Open Models, Jetson/IGX, or CUDA-accelerated computing.
  • Familiarity with regulatory pathways for AI-enabled medical devices (FDA SaMD, IEC 62304, ISO 13485, IEC 60601).
  • Experience developing synthetic data generation (SDG) workflows for robotics or medical imaging applications.
  • Publications and patents in healthcare robotics, medical AI, robot learning, or simulation-to-real transfer.

Additional information

  • NVIDIA provides access to the newest GPUs, Jetson/IGX platforms, and exclusive simulation and AI tools.
  • Base salary ranges provided: 320,000 USD - 488,750 USD for Level 5; 384,000 USD - 575,000 USD for Level 6.
  • Eligible for equity and benefits. Applications accepted at least until May 5, 2026. This posting is for an existing vacancy. NVIDIA uses AI tools in its recruiting processes and is an equal opportunity employer.
