Brief info about Vinted

Our mission is to make second-hand the first choice, and we're looking for people who want to help us get there. Every day, we work together to help our members buy and sell pre-loved clothing and lifestyle items, giving each piece a second life – or even a third.
The Vinted Group is made up of three business units that support this mission:

Vinted Marketplace is Europe’s leading platform for second-hand fashion and a go-to destination for all kinds of pre-loved items, with a growing range of categories. Our platform connects millions of members across 20+ markets, helping great items find a new life.

Vinted Go enhances the shipping experience with a vast network of over 500,000 pick-up and drop-off points, partnering with more than 60 carriers across Europe, with added services like item verification for peace of mind on high-value pieces.

Vinted Pay is the newest part of the Vinted Group, dedicated to bringing secure, reliable payments to buyers and sellers across Europe. Seamlessly integrated into the Vinted app, it helps keep every transaction safe, efficient, and easy for our members.

Founded in 2008 in Lithuania, Vinted began as a way for friends to find new homes for clothes they no longer needed. In 2019, we became Lithuania's first unicorn! Today, our headquarters remain in Vilnius, and we've grown with offices across Europe, supported by a team of over 2,000 people.

Information about the position

As Vinted’s Director of Internal Comms you will be responsible for our global internal comms strategy and our internal narrative. Based at our HQ in Vilnius, and reporting to the VP of Corporate Affairs, you will serve as the overarching "keeper of the message" and Vinted's internal tone of voice, and develop an internal communications style founded on transparency and trust. You will think 2+ years ahead, shaping communications that engage employees to support Vinted’s mission and next phase of growth. You will act as an advisor to our CEO and key Global Leadership Team (GLT) members, helping shape their messages to Vinted employees.

This role blends high-stakes rapid/crisis communication management with long-term change management execution. As a small dynamic team you will hire and directly manage and develop one other Internal Communications specialist, while building cross-functional alignment across the People Team, Public Affairs, and External Communications. We are looking for an excellent writer, and creative storyteller with strong judgement, strategic range, and the confidence to bring fresh thinking to internal communications.

Vinted is a profitable, category-defining marketplace with vertically integrated shipping and payments - this is a rare opportunity to shape the internal narrative and culture of one of Europe’s most exciting consumer businesses at a pivotal moment.

In this position, you’ll

  • Create our internal narrative and communications strategy and deliver it through engaging internal comms campaigns to align Vinted employees behind our mission and strategy, engaging them in their work and helping us move faster and smarter.
  • Act as a trusted strategic advisor to the CEO and key leadership team members, drafting and editing high-profile communications, and supporting their messaging to the wider Vinted organisation.
  • Coach, mentor, and train leaders to communicate complex changes with empathy, transparency, impact, and a people-centered approach.
  • Oversee all high-stakes internal crisis communications, sitting as an active member of the company's crisis committee to draft and execute swift, clear, and reactive communication plans and create and maintain internal crisis comms playbooks and processes.
  • Help Vinted build a mature internal communications function to support our next phase of growth, including reviewing current disclosure practices and putting in place a framework that supports transparency within the right level of information-sharing for a company considering an IPO.
  • Partner effectively with key stakeholders—including External Comms, Editorial Content, Exec Comms and Employee Comms.
  • Innovate with new channels and approaches to internal comms to better hear employee voices and conversation, and deliver information, including AI solutions.
  • Lead and run the regular company All Hands, creating compelling and interesting content that engages and informs employees.
  • Establish metrics and feedback loops to measure effectiveness and continuously improve.
  • Directly manage, guide, and develop one Internal Communications specialist.

About you

  • Broad communications expertise in corporate, internal, or change communications; specific internal comms experience not required - we would be happy to consider an accomplished corporate communications professional interested in the switch to internal comms.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, complex business environment where you have navigated competing priorities. Proven ability to resolve highly complex or sensitive communication challenges in creative, effective ways.
  • Excellent writer and storyteller, with strong editorial judgement.
  • Able to turn complex ideas into straightforward and easy to understand comms.
  • Fluent with data and measurement.
