Details

Teleport is an AI Infrastructure Identity company building a unified identity layer for infrastructure to secure humans, machines, workloads, and AI agents with cryptographic identities and a hardware root of trust. Teleport's platform integrates access management, zero trust networking, identity governance, and identity security to reduce complexity, eliminate credential sprawl, and improve engineering velocity and resiliency.

This is a senior engineering role with a heavy product focus. Candidates should be technical, analytical, extremely data-driven, and results-oriented. In this role you will partner closely with engineering on the direction, user experience, and revenue of Teleport Beams, Teleport's AI-focused product.

Responsibilities

  • Report directly to the CTO and join the R&D leadership team.
  • Partner with the engineering team on product direction and implementation.
  • Interview customers and prospects; gather data and user stories to drive the roadmap.
  • Hack on the product alongside engineering (participate in hackathons and hands-on coding).
  • Work with product marketing on adoption and revenue for the Zero Trust Access offering.
  • Formulate experiments to improve conversion rates from product usage data and implement/measure experiments.
  • Periodically demo the product to customers and prospects to refine messaging.
  • Collaborate with marketing on product launches, updates, and messaging.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in the US or Canada without a visa (no visa sponsorship provided).
  • 3+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience with front-end web development in TypeScript and back-end development in Go.
  • Strong interest and aptitude for product thinking and ownership of outcomes.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Comfortable working hands-on (implementing experiments and larger code changes) and working cross-functionally with engineering and marketing.

  • 45-minute call with two senior Teleport team members to discuss product, marketing, and go-to-market principles.
  • Participation in a Slack channel and submission of a coding challenge in Go and TypeScript using GitHub.
  • The company uses a project-based interview approach (no live whiteboard/live-coding rounds) and provides flexibility and support during the take-home project.

Possible day-to-day responsibilities

  • Analyze Teleport Zero Trust product usage data and design experiments to improve conversion.
  • Implement experiments (hands-on coding) and evaluate results to decide whether to keep changes.
  • Work directly with Engineering to implement larger code changes informed by experiment results.
  • Demo product to customers and prospects to improve product messaging.
  • Collaborate with Marketing on launches, updates, and messaging.
