Community You Will Join

The CRM Engineering team builds world-class tools that drive growth and foster meaningful relationships between Airbnb and its community, including Hosts, Guests, Law Enforcement, Government Regulators, and Local Community Leaders. This team tackles some of the most challenging and unique problems faced by Airbnb's business.

Key platforms include:

• Growth Platform: Designed to increase supply and retain existing hosts.
• Policy Cloud: Engages with regulatory bodies across the globe regarding short-term rental regulations, tracking regulations that impact Airbnb and providing intelligence.
• Community Platform: A social platform to drive community enablement, collaboration, and success.
• Agent Tools: Helps agents resolve customer issues.
• Aircover Claims Platform: Processes claims for Aircover insurance products protecting hosts and guests.

The Difference You Will Make

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of senior, highly motivated engineers in the Community and Policy platform teams. Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other leaders to plan and deliver new and improved features powering Airbnb messaging. You will shape ambitious technical and product visions and execute them.

A Typical Day

• Work with product, design, and stakeholders to define, prioritize and execute the roadmap.
• Plan and sequence with engineers, making tradeoffs to deliver features and capabilities.
• Maintain system health and build for long-term success.
• Foster a culture of engineering excellence.
• Hire and coach exceptional engineering talent with personal attention to motivation and team dynamics.

Your Expertise

• 3-5+ years managing engineering teams and 9+ years in software development in fast-paced tech environments.
• Strong expertise in building large-scale backend systems and user-facing features.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience working with multiple engineering teams and cross-functional partners.
• Adaptable leadership style.
• Proven track record of leading and shipping large impactful initiatives.
• Strong culture of operational excellence, quality, reliability, and availability.
• Good judgment balancing short-term business needs and long-term technical quality.
• Skilled at influencing diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to foster inclusive and engaging team environments.
• Ability to attract, retain, and grow critical talent.

Location

This position is US - Remote Eligible, with occasional office or offsite work as agreed. Candidates must reside in a US state where Airbnb has a registered entity (some exclusions apply).

Benefits

• Base pay range: $204,000 - $255,000 USD
• Eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
