We are looking for an experienced engineering manager to lead the Payments team within the Consumer Product Group. This team focuses on developing and enhancing the user experience for cryptocurrency payments, including send and receive features. The Consumer Product Group aims to make the Coinbase retail app the easiest-to-use and fastest way to access crypto, with a goal to be the #1 self custody wallet by MTUβs and download share.
Responsibilities
- Build and manage full-stack engineering teams to develop features, services, and infrastructure across web and mobile platforms.
- Coach direct reports to positively impact the organization and support their career growth.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to translate vision into a roadmap, breaking down complex projects and leading the iterative design and implementation process.
- Provide technical leadership, make architectural decisions, and promote high-quality code and engineering processes.
- Work with Product and Engineering teams to deliver and operate multi-tenanted, distributed systems at scale.
- Partner with talent acquisition to recruit exceptional engineers aligned with Coinbase's culture.
- Own and contribute to processes that drive engineering quality and meet service level agreements.
Requirements
- Experience in peer-to-peer payments.
- Experience in crypto and blockchain networks.
- Minimum 7 years in software engineering.
- At least 2 years of engineering management experience leading consumer products.
- Strong understanding of high-quality code and engineering processes.
- Execution-focused mindset, able to navigate ambiguity and deliver results.
- Capable of balancing long-term strategy with short-term planning.
- Experience with multi-tenanted, distributed systems at scale.
- Ability to be hands-on, writing/reviewing code, participating in on-call rotations, leading incidents, and troubleshooting bugs.
- Passion for building an open financial system that connects the world.

Pay Range: $218,025 β $256,500 USD
