Who we are

About Stripe

Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

Our Growth team is on a mission to acquire, convert and grow millions of merchants globally across Stripe’s full suite of financial products. We are a cross functional team of engineers, scientists, marketers, designers and product managers that deliver the insights, algorithms, internal systems and tools, and user-facing experiences that fuel Stripe’s growth. We make it easy for businesses around the world to find Stripe, get started, and grow.

What you’ll do

As a leader in the Growth Engineering team, you build teams that run experiments and ship improvements across stripe.com and the Dashboard to help businesses find and get started on Stripe. You own critical parts of the funnel for self-serve users, ensuring that their experience on Stripe is consistently of high quality and utility. You work with platform teams to turn ML-powered recommendations, messaging, and experimentation into impact that moves company metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Grow high-performing teams of engineers across a diverse array of backgrounds and skillsets
  • Drive execution across teams and organizations, solving problems and setting the pace
  • Raise the bar across teams on the mechanisms that result in high-quality, beautiful, and durable dashboard experiences as well as responsive data and backend systems
  • Define operational processes and lead response to production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack, growing the learning and retrospective culture on our team and driving remediations that reduce risk
  • Partner with other leaders across the business to translate ambitious, data-first growth strategies into roadmaps

  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Experience mentoring teams of senior engineers over multi-quarter or multi-year projects
  • Experience defining the roadmap for complex projects, spanning multiple teams and functions
  • Work Type + Location: Hybrid in Toronto, Ca

Preferred qualifications

  • Ability to clearly identify business priorities, create new areas of investments, anticipate pitfalls and risks, and deep technical expertise for teams you lead
  • Deep care for users' needs, and ability to be a steward of crafting great experiences
  • Experience with machine learning, recommender systems, product-led growth, and/or lifecycle marketing
  • Experience designing and analyzing A/B and similar experiments
  • Experience leading teams distributed across time zones/regions

Hybrid work at Stripe

Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.
