The role is for an Engineering Manager to lead the Pipelines team at Customer.io, focused on building and maintaining services that allow seamless data integration for customers. The goal is to support mission-critical capabilities with a focus on high scale distributed systems and an intuitive user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead squad rituals and ensure production readiness including quality peer-reviews, documentation, logging, and monitoring
  • Ensure scalable, sound, flexible, and secure architectural solutions
  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and empathetic work environment
  • Provide coaching and development opportunities across backend, frontend, full stack, and QA engineers
  • Hire, onboard, and manage performance to meet business objectives
  • Understand the company’s vision, business model, and products to drive meaningful questions within the squad
  • Build and maintain partnerships with Product Management and Design teams

Requirements

  • Experience working in North/South American time zones
  • Minimum three years as an Engineering Manager in a SaaS product environment (B2B or B2C), preferably at an early-to-mid-stage company
  • Deep understanding of SaaS architecture, Go programming language, and cloud infrastructures like GCP/AWS
  • Ability to review technical proposals and provide feedback to improve engineering team skills
  • Proven ability to build and nurture high performing teams
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
