The role involves leading the Pipelines squad, which focuses on enabling Customer.io to be a trusted source of real-time marketing data by building scalable, distributed systems and intuitive user interfaces. The manager will lead a team experienced in backend, frontend, full stack, and QA, supporting development into senior and staff-level roles, while working across problem spaces such as integration capabilities, infrastructure consolidation, and handling large data volumes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead squad rituals and ensure quality standards, documentation, deployment, logging, and monitoring.
  • Ensure scalable, secure, architecturally sound, and flexible solutions.
  • Foster an inclusive and collaborative environment with accountability for delivery timelines.
  • Provide coaching and development for engineers.
  • Hire, onboard, and manage squad performance.
  • Understand business and product aspects to drive meaningful investigation.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Design teams.

Requirements

  • Experience working in North/South American time zones.
  • At least 3 years as an Engineering Manager on SaaS products in early to mid-stage companies.
  • Deep understanding of SaaS architecture, Go language, cloud infrastructure (GCP/AWS).
  • Technical architecture comprehension and ability to mentor engineers.
  • Ability to build high-performing teams and communicate clearly.
