Team Description

The Staking Infrastructure team builds and manages Kubernetes-based infrastructure for staking validators at Coinbase. They manage infrastructure migration onto Coinbase’s 'paved road' infrastructure and collaborate closely with Staking Platform and Compute teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage engineering teams for features, services, and infrastructure development.
• Coach direct reports to drive organizational impact and career growth.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and leadership to create and execute quarterly roadmaps.
• Participate as a technical voice in architectural decisions and promote a culture of high-quality code and engineering processes.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to deliver and operate multi-tenanted distributed systems at scale.
• Partner with talent organization to recruit engineers who align with Coinbase culture.
• Own and improve processes driving engineering quality and meeting SLAs.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years software engineering experience.
• At least 2 years engineering management experience.
• Deep understanding of high-quality code and effective software engineering processes.
• Execution-focused mindset able to deliver through ambiguity.
• Balance long-term strategy with short-term planning.
• Experience creating, delivering, and operating multi-tenanted distributed systems at scale.
• Hands-on ability with coding, technical documentation, on-call rotations, incident leadership, and bug triage.
• Strong passion for building an open financial system.

• Technical experience with blockchains like Bitcoin, Ethereum.

Pay Range: $218,025 — $256,500 USD annually (includes target bonus, equity, and benefits).
