Team Description

The Staking Platform team is responsible for building platform services that empower high quality staking products for retail and institutional customers. This platform abstracts blockchain complexities into simple, easy-to-use APIs for all product teams at Coinbase, enabling customers to earn on crypto while supporting blockchain security and decentralization.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage engineering teams to guide the development of features, services, and infrastructure.
  • Coach direct reports to positively impact the organization and support their career growth.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to translate vision into quarterly roadmaps.
  • Break down complex projects and lead iterative design and implementation.
  • Be a thoughtful technical voice aiding in architectural decisions and fostering high-quality code and engineering culture.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to deliver and operate multi-tenanted, distributed systems at scale.
  • Work with talent organization to identify and recruit exceptional engineers aligned with Coinbase's culture.
  • Own processes that drive engineering quality and meet engineering SLAs.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of software engineering experience.
  • At least 2 years of engineering management experience.
  • Strong understanding of high-quality code and effective software engineering processes.
  • Execution-focused mindset with ability to navigate ambiguity and deliver results.
  • Balance long-term strategic thinking with short-term planning.
  • Experience creating, delivering, and operating multi-tenanted, distributed systems at scale.
  • Hands-on capability for coding, technical reviews, on-call rotations, incident leadership, and bug triaging.
  • Passion for building an open financial system driven by crypto and blockchain technology.
