The Opportunity:
You'll join as a founding member of Glean's forward deployed team and operate with the autonomy and accountability of a founder. Your job is to discover and build Glean's next generation of product surfaces, working in a pod with Forward Deployed PMs directly with the C-suite of the world's most influential companies and with Glean's engineering and product teams. You will identify the biggest unsolved business problems at strategic customers, build entirely new products to solve them, and shape what Glean becomes. The best of what you build ships to every Glean customer.
Responsibilities
- Discover and build Glean's next product surfaces: lead 0-to-1 product creation from hypothesis to production.
- Lead deep opportunity discovery: diagnose structural business problems, form hypotheses with FDPMs, and pressure-test them with customer stakeholders.
- Be a technical partner to the C-suite: earn trust at all organizational levels and clearly explain technical approaches, benefits, and risks.
- Scale what works: collaborate with core R&D to make field-tested solutions repeatable and production-scalable.
- Stay at the frontier with R&D: surface field learnings that inform platform capabilities and iterate on solutions.
Requirements
- 4+ years in technical roles with a track record of shipping production software.
- 0-to-1 build track record: experience building production software from scratch in ambiguous environments.
- Production AI experience: shipped AI-powered solutions (prompt engineering, agent development, evaluation frameworks, deployment at scale), not just prototypes.
- Full-stack technical depth: strong programming skills across the stack and experience with how enterprise systems operate.
- Business acumen: able to diagnose customer problems and map them to product hypotheses.
- Customer instinct: build trust quickly, communicate with clarity, and tailor depth to different audiences, including executives.
- Builder's judgment: know what's buildable, how long it will take, and when to simplify scope to reach production quickly.
- Willingness to travel: this role requires 25β50% travel.
Nice to Have
- Experience as a founder, at a top-tier technology company, or in forward deployed engineering roles.
- Technical degree in CS, engineering, math, or related field.
- Deep familiarity with LLMs, retrieval systems, and evaluation frameworks.
- Experience driving technology adoption inside large enterprises.
Location
- Hybrid role (3β4 days per week in one of Glean's San Francisco Bay Area offices).
- This role requires 25β50% travel.
Compensation & Benefits
- Standard range for this position: $160,000β$270,000 annually. Compensation will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for variable compensation, equity, and benefits.
