NVIDIA has been transforming computer graphics, PC gaming, and accelerated computing for more than 25 years. NVIDIA is looking for a Commodity Manager to join the Global Commodity Management Group. The ideal candidate will own strategic sourcing and commodity management of optical and copackaged optics technologies in the Boards and Systems Supply Chain Group. This position develops, directs, and influences global sourcing and commodity strategies that deliver significant value in the supply chain through sourcing strategies, supply assurance, component quality, and gross margin improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Build cross-functional alignment with Networking, Hardware, Electrical, and Mechanical engineering to identify commodity sourcing strategies to enable NVIDIA business segment requirements for Boards and System Supply Chain.
  • Develop and manage supplier relationships and conduct supplier business reviews that improve supplier value, performance, and account investments through aligned roadmaps.
  • Negotiate Master Service Agreements, cost reduction strategies, and maintain lead-time, cost systems, and split of business decisions.
  • Deliver a supplier risk management system, BOM risk reduction solutions, materials risk mitigation strategies, and maintain data integrity to ensure supply resiliency.
  • Rationalize and optimize the number of components and suppliers to capture synergies and reduce risk due to demand fluctuation.
  • Enable early supplier involvement to bring innovation from the industry to deliver innovation on SOL (Speed of Light) project schedules.
  • Focus on NPI to achieve industry-leading time-to-market: establish supplier selection criteria, identify alternative suppliers, qualify new suppliers, own the RFQ process, and drive supplier selection in partnership with Engineering.
  • Provide complex capacity planning to support high-volume ramp during NPI stages; inform Engineering and Management of supply risks to pre-release schedules; develop and enable production and scale strategies for sustaining product and commodity growth.

Requirements

  • BS in Business, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience. MBA preferred.
  • 12+ years' experience in global commodity management with a proven track record managing optics and optical technology supply base.
  • Deep understanding of lasers, active optical components, and copackaged optics technologies, market, manufacturing processes, cost drivers, and supply landscape.
  • Ability to be innovative with issues related to strategic sourcing, supplier relations, and supplier performance measurement systems.
  • Strong analytical skills such as cost modeling, quotation analysis, supplier selection, and supply/demand analysis.
  • Ability to incorporate AI tools to improve supply chain and sourcing analysis, data integrity, and decision making.
  • Excellent negotiation and leadership skills in supplier management and contract negotiation.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills when dealing with supply base executives.
  • High degree of integrity, initiative, and attention to detail in a collaborative environment.
  • Technical experience to complement strong program management skills is preferred.

Compensation and benefits

  • Base salary range: 200,000 USD - 322,000 USD (final base salary determined by location, experience, and pay of employees in similar positions).
