Are you an experienced cybersecurity leader ready to shape the future of a global bank’s security operations? We are seeking a visionary Global Head of SOC to lead worldwide security operations, safeguard digital assets, and drive incident response strategy. The expected salary for this position: 22 700 - 40 000 PLN.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the global SOC vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with the bank’s cybersecurity objectives.
  • Direct 24/7 SOC operations, including threat monitoring, incident detection, response, and escalation procedures.
  • Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing global SOC team; foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Oversee selection, deployment, and optimization of security monitoring tools, SIEM solutions, and automation platforms.
  • Coordinate response to major security incidents, ensuring timely communication and resolution.
  • Collaborate closely with IT, risk management, compliance, and business units to ensure effective incident response and risk mitigation.
  • Define SOC KPIs, deliver regular reports to executive leadership, and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure SOC operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies (e.g., FFIEC, GDPR, SOX).

Requirements

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 10+ years in information security, with at least 5 years in SOC leadership roles within the banking or financial services sector.
  • Proven experience managing global teams and complex multi-regional SOC environments.
  • Strong knowledge of security operations, threat intelligence, incident response, SIEM, and security automation.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GIAC, SANS).
  • Excellent communication, crisis management, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Additional information

  • The role reports to the Global Head of Security Detection and Response and collaborates with local SOC teams, IT, risk management, and executive stakeholders across all locations.
  • The Global Head of SOC will work closely with the Global Head of Detection Models & Data Analytics to drive transformation and enhancement of security operations and detection capabilities.
  • The role naming convention in the global ING job architecture will be “IT Area Lead II”.
  • Possible locations: Warsaw; Katowice; Madrid.
