Details

Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.

About the Role

We're building a team of Implementation Specialists to be the technical hands that switch Claude on inside our largest customers — the people who turn "we've signed the contract" into "our employees can log in, with the right access, under the right policies, the way our security team expects." This role focuses on technical deployment, security credibility, and clean handoffs. You will work inside customer identity providers (Okta, Entra ID, Ping, Google Workspace), run working sessions with customer IT and IAM leads, debug SAML assertions and SCIM attribute mappings, and author the runbooks that enable downstream Customer Success and Enablement work.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and troubleshoot SSO (SAML, OIDC), SCIM/JIT provisioning, MCP connectors, admin policy templates, and seat-assignment logic across Okta, Entra ID, Ping, and Google Workspace.
  • Deliver informative transitions to Support for deeper issues that require investigation and/or engineering support.
  • Run technical working sessions with customer IT, IAM, and security leads — including CISOs at F500 scale — explaining Anthropic's security model, shared-responsibility boundaries, and data-handling posture.
  • Anticipate regulated customers' security review questions (SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, FedRAMP) and partner with AI Security Specialist when needed.
  • Diagnose identity edge cases live on calls: broken SAML assertions, misconfigured SCIM attribute maps, group-filtering issues, tenant-provisioning quirks.
  • Author Deployment Runbooks that the CSM inherits at handoff — documenting as-built environment, admin contacts, known issues, support tier.
  • Contribute to repeatable playbooks and admin documentation to help the Implementation Specialist function scale; you'll be an early hire and shape the template.
  • Typically run a portfolio of 5–10 concurrent enterprise deployments.

Requirements

  • 5–7+ years in a customer-facing technical role (e.g., Technical Account Manager, Technical Onboarding, Technical Support, Solutions Architect, technical consulting).
  • 4+ years of hands-on, sustained ownership of enterprise identity integration work — SAML, OIDC, SCIM v2, JIT provisioning — across at least two major IdPs (Okta, Entra ID, Ping, Google Workspace). Ability to debug SAML assertions and SCIM attribute maps without escalating.
  • Proven track record running multiple concurrent enterprise deployments at F500 scale, with documented handoffs.
  • Customer-facing technical communication skills; able to run working sessions with CISOs and IAM leads and explain trade-offs without jargon.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise security and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, FedRAMP) sufficient to anticipate and answer customer security reviews.
  • Experience in regulated industries (financial services, healthcare, pharma, public sector) and familiarity with their security-review rigor.
  • Portfolio discipline: document as you go, hit milestones, and manage 5–10 concurrent threads.
  • Prior experience at an enterprise SaaS or AI/LLM vendor with a heavy admin/IdP surface (identity, collaboration, security, or productivity platforms).
  • Exposure to AI/LLM products or agentic systems; familiarity with Claude-specific concepts like Skills, MCP, and Plugins.
  • Experience partnering with SI/GSI delivery partners in an ecosystem attach model.

Logistics

  • Location: San Francisco, CA.
  • Location-based hybrid policy: currently expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time.
  • Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
  • Visa sponsorship: Anthropic states they do sponsor visas and retain an immigration lawyer to assist when an offer is made.
  • The annual compensation range for this role is listed as $151,840 - $260,000 USD.
