Details
As an IT Platform Engineer within the Innovation department, you operate at the highest level of engineering maturity. You will design, build, govern and maintain highly complex, bank-wide solutions, enabling experimentation and translating innovation into scalable, secure and compliant production systems. You work in a multidisciplinary environment alongside Innovation Managers, senior engineers, architects, and business stakeholders and act as a technical authority within your domain.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain highly complex, bank-wide platforms and services β you build it, you run it
- Define and own the technical roadmap for platform engineering, ensuring alignment across teams and initiatives
- Act as the technical lead and authority for complex engineering challenges
- Set engineering standards and best practices
- Proactively identify and mitigate architectural, operational, and security risks
- Coordinate activities across multiple teams and domains, ensuring cross-team alignment and reuse of capabilities

- Observability: Azure Monitoring, Log Analytics Workspaces (basic knowledge required)

Working environment
The Innovation department within Innovation & Technology (I&T) delivers ABN AMRO's innovation agenda in close collaboration with Client Units and Functions. The department includes Innovation Tech and Support, AI, Digital Assets and Embedded Banking teams. The Innovation Tech and Support team is a shared services support team enabling delivery of innovation initiatives and facilitating overall operations of the innovation department. Members contribute directly to initiatives based on their expertise.
Requirements
- 5+ years relevant experience (role asks for experienced professionals; technical skillset indicates senior level)
- Proven knowledge and experience with Azure cloud running containerized workloads in production in corporate environments (8 years or more)
- Solid IAM and networking concepts
- Infrastructure as Code: proficient writing Bicep and Terraform
- Proven experience automating Dev, Sec and Ops using CI/CD solutions (preference Azure DevOps)
- Passion to automate repeated tasks using scripting languages and/or Infrastructure as Code
- Understanding of security in public cloud and containerized workloads
- Strong programming expertise (e.g., Python, Java, TypeScript or equivalent) and experience designing backend-heavy systems
- Motivational drive, passion for your field, and ability to coach and share knowledge across teams

- Gross monthly salary range: β¬5,847 - β¬8,353 (based on a 36-hour work week), including holiday allowance and a flexible benefit budget
