Information about the position
The IT Service Manager plays a vital role in ensuring smooth operations within a logistics warehouse. This role is essential for maintaining and managing all IT services and systems, which directly impacts the overall efficiency of the warehouse. By overseeing these critical technology components, the IT Service Manager helps to drive operational efficiency and support the warehouse's core functions.
In this position, you’ll
- IT Infrastructure Management. Oversee the deployment, maintenance, and upgrading of IT infrastructure within the warehouse, including network systems, servers, and hardware used for logistics operations.
- Service Delivery. Manage and control IT service delivery processes to ensure that all IT services meet warehouse operational requirements and business objectives.
- User Support and Training. Lead the IT support team to provide technical support to warehouse employees, ensuring minimal disruption in daily operations. Develop and implement training programs for staff to effectively use IT systems and tools.
- Vendor Management. Collaborate with external vendors and service providers, handling contract negotiations, service level agreements (SLA), and performance monitoring to ensure quality service delivery.
- Process Improvement. Continuously assess and improve IT processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and support warehouse productivity. Utilise data analytics to streamline IT Services and predict operational needs.
- Incident and Problem Management. Develop and maintain processes for effective incident and problem management, ensuring quick resolution of IT issues to minimise downtime.
- Strategic Planning. Work with stakeholders to align IT strategy with the overall business strategy of the warehouse. Identify emerging technologies that could benefit and expand warehouse IT Services and plan for their integration.
About you
- Proficient in IT systems, networks, and software relevant to warehouses.
- Ability to quickly identify issues and implement practical solutions.
- Excellent communication skills for training, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience in managing complex IT projects from inception to completion.
