Information about the position

We are looking for a Junior Site Reliability Engineer to help evolve and maintain Vinted’s infrastructure. Currently, we manage over 7,000 physical servers running multiple platforms across various regions. We also use multiple cloud providers to extend our on-premises infrastructure.

Here are some of the technologies we use (with links to our blog!): Rocky Linux, Chef, Ansible, Terraform, Ruby, Go, MySQL, Vitess, Elasticsearch, Ceph, Cumulus Linux, Consul, Vault, Mcrouter, Memcached, Etcd, Redis, Kafka, Prometheus, Thanos, Grafana, Nginx, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes, Istio, Argo CD, and others.

In this position, you could work on:

  • Building and managing Kubernetes infrastructure and tooling for a scalable and resilient computing platform.
  • Automating physical infrastructure provisioning, configuring data center networks and VPNs, managing DNS and domains, and handling edge systems like CDNs and load balancers.
  • Managing cloud infrastructure as code with Terraform and Terragrunt across AWS, GCP, Cloudflare, and other providers.
  • Designing, scaling, and operating distributed storage systems like Ceph, Redis, Memcached, Elasticsearch, and Etcd — often beyond official limitations and documented practices.
  • Scaling database clusters (Vitess, MySQL) by introducing new sharding strategies, adapting products to support them, and helping product teams solve database-related challenges.
  • Supporting event-driven architectures with Kafka, Flink, and Schema Registry to enable stream processing, reliable messaging, and data consistency across systems.
