Team

Our Data team supports the Bloomberg Industry Group (INDG) business, which offers outstanding tools, search, and analytics for products in the areas of Law, Government and Tax. Bloomberg is changing the legal industry by delivering the most sophisticated research platform on the market with a focus on automation, analytics and real-time answers. INDG provides users with fast access to legal content and analysis, practice tools, company information and market intelligence through advanced search & analytic capabilities. Role overview

As a member of the Data Enrichment team, you will function as a subject matter authority in all areas of the law for BCITE and Precedent Search products, providing legal insights for customers. You will work with business partners to ensure caselaw and transactional data meets high quality standards, and provide timely and accurate analytics. You will partner with engineering and machine learning experts to explore new technologies and help evolve the product. The role offers a career path combining legal expertise with technical know-how, business awareness, and data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze caselaw, agency, and transactional documents and serve as a legal subject-matter guide
  • Manage vendor teams to ensure quality performance and consistency to SLAs
  • Collaborate with legal data analysts, Engineering, and Bloomberg Industry Group staff to devise technical solutions
  • Identify opportunities for increased efficiency in workflows and processes
  • Collaborate with partners to gather requirements, scope work, and develop project plans

Requirements

  • Graduated with a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Passed a state bar examination and been admitted
  • Familiarity with online legal research tools (experience with the BLAW product is a plus)
  • Strong analytical, written, and presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel internationally

Preferred / Nice to have

  • Demonstrated interest in legal research and analysis and creative problem-solving
  • Judicial clerkships
  • Interest in building technology knowledge and skills, including a desire to learn data analysis tools such as Excel and/or Python, and exploring generative AI to improve productivity and innovation
  • Experience with process reengineering or improving/enhancing existing processes

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: 90,000 - 110,000 USD Annual + Benefits + Bonus

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
