The Opportunity

This is a founding management role to build and lead a team of Observability Architects who will guide Grafana’s strategic customers through onboarding, adoption, and expansion. You will shape a new function, influence product direction, and build a practice focused on technical customer success.

Responsibilities

  • Attract, recruit, ramp, and mentor a team of Observability Architects from diverse backgrounds.
  • Define, build and execute customer lifecycle frameworks in partnership with Engagement Management.
  • Provide servant-based leadership and adopt a player/coach mentality (balance field responsibilities with team needs).
  • Own retention and expansion for the region.
  • Execute planning, actions and outcomes based on leadership guidance and goals.
  • Partner with US Sales leadership on customer programs, marketing initiatives and events to drive adoption and expansion.
  • Serve as executive sponsor for key accounts and be a thought leader to customers and internally.
  • Understand and contribute to customers’ adoption strategies for Grafana technologies; develop programs and collateral to enable customer goals.
  • Ensure customer requirements are met through partnership with Product Management and Engineering.
  • Own and report quarter-over-quarter cadence while the team runs demonstrations, technical deep dives, trials, and POVs.
  • Educate and enable viewers, editors, and architects on leveraging the Grafana stack.
  • Assist with building/modifying critical SLA dashboards within production environments.
  • Work closely with sales to articulate Grafana’s value proposition, vision, and strategy.
  • Proactively communicate customer feedback and competitive landscape insights to internal teams.
  • Contribute to documentation, blog posts, videos, knowledge base articles, and other enablement materials.

Requirements

  • Located in a PST timezone (role targets West Coast candidates).
  • 3+ years leading a team; 5+ years in the high tech industry in roles such as TAM Manager, SE Manager, Developer, Sales Engineer/Architect, Manager, etc.
  • Direct experience mentoring, developing people, and managing performance over time.
  • Experience in open source selling or cloud-first/product-led sales motion is a big plus.
  • Deep operational knowledge of the Grafana platform (LGTM) and/or competing observability products.
  • Direct experience selling monitoring/data/visualization products.
  • Creative problem solving for customer adoption challenges.
  • Ability to assist customers with technical issues, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis; provide timely workarounds and solutions.
  • Extensive Grafana deployment design expertise.
  • First-class written and oral communication skills for collaboration with remote internal teams and worldwide customers.
  • Passion for solving technical challenges and delivering creative solutions to customers.

Compensation

  • In the US, the OTE range for this role is $235,000 - $286,000. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed throughout the interview process.
  • All roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
  • Compensation ranges are country specific; candidates in other locations will discuss their market’s pay range with a recruiter.
