NVIDIA is looking for an Orbital Datacenter System Architect to help define and build products for AI in orbit. This is an opportunity to join the leader in AI systems at the inception of a completely new industry.
Responsibilities
- Drive architecture for orbital datacenter systems considering everything from the chip out to the satellite and connectivity between satellites.
- Work with counterparts from silicon, software, networking, operations, and other teams to build a roadmap that guides development of future NVIDIA products for space.
- Analyze performance, power, and cost of different solutions to inform architectural decisions.
- Collaborate with NVIDIA’s key customers and system development partners to align on consistent strategies.
- Collaborate with suppliers and procurement teams to ensure industry roadmaps are aligned to NVIDIA needs.
- Work across engineering and operations teams to define systems from concept through large production deployments.
- Summarize and examine competitor solutions to keep track of industry developments and trends.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience in related fields. MS or equivalent experience preferred.
- Deep understanding of hardware architecture and development of computing systems for space, including reliability, radiation tolerant strategies, environmental tolerances, and thermal solutions.
- 12+ years of experience in system architecture.
- Hands-on experience with testing and validation for space systems.
- Excellent presentation and verbal communication skills with proven ability to lead multi-discipline teams.
Ways to stand out from the crowd
- Experience with large projects involving co-development of silicon, systems, and software.
- Familiarity with GPU compute and NVIDIA products.
- Experience solving mechanical challenges for rocket launches.
- Experience with beam testing and silicon features required for use in space.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: 224,000 USD - 356,500 USD (final base salary will be determined based on location, experience, and pay of employees in similar positions).
