As a Performance Engineer at Rabobank you are responsible for the stability, availability, and performance of applications. Besides major performance activities, you also implement change requests like upgrading and updating LRE. You will have contact with customers who ask for your advice and support and on top of that you will maintain and support LRE users.

As a Performance Engineer you make the difference. Within our Tech for Development area, we have 9 scrum teams who are responsible for helping 400+ development teams across the Globe with their ambitions. Your potential team specifically offers advice and help to improve these teams with standardized code scanning and repository management solutions.

  • You are part of Engineering & Enterprise Tech division and are responsible for helping teams to continuously improve their development process;
  • We advise and coach squads, offer expert knowledge and contribute to analyzing and optimizing performance bottlenecks in applications, software and cloud infrastructures.;
  • You will be welcomed in an agile environment where we learn from our mistakes and where the importance of having fun is understood.

Responsibilities
As a Performance Engineer, you will provide ongoing support to multiple squads with their performance-related activities. Together with a colleague, you will act as the main point of contact for all matters concerning LoadRunner Enterprise and Application Performance. Your routine responsibilities will encompass the following activities:

  • LoadRunner Enterprise administration(Users and Projects) and its maintenance(host upgrades/patch installations etc)
  • Mentoring and Training DevOps teams and making them more autonomous in Performance Management
  • Onboarding users to LoadRunner Enterprise and AutoLST(Automated Load Stress Testing: Inhouse tool)
  • Helping squads to create CI/CD pipelines for automating their performance tests
  • Identifying performance risks and requirements for new features
  • Determining application load models and performance testing plans
  • Support in the scripting, execution and analysis of performance load tests (Jmeter, Loadrunner Enterprise, AutoLST(Automated Load Stress Testing: Inhouse tool))
  • Verify the stability and reliability of applications during exceptional situations (peak conditions, slow backends, fail over)
  • Identifying key metrics and configuration of monitoring and alerting and analysing the end user experience and end-to-end response times in production
  • Analyse and optimize performance bottlenecks in applications, software and architectures (Dynatrace APM, SignalFX, Splunk)

Qualifications

  • Minimal 5 years of experience as performance engineer role in an Agile organisation
  • Of which a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a performance engineering role
  • Experience in the scripting, analysis and execution of performance load tests using either Loadrunner or JMeter
  • Experience with observability solutions similar to Dynatrace, Splunk and SignalFX
  • Experience in using Azure cloud and setting up Azure DevOps pipelines
  • Solid understanding of web application architectures and technology
  • Solid understanding of the software development life cycle and DevOps
  • Knowledge of API’s and related (test) tooling like OpenAPI, Wiremock is a plus
  • Familiarity with Cloud-based load testing services like Azure Load Testing or distributed Load Testing on AWS is a plus
  • Understanding of shift left and shift right testing approaches.

A salary between €3.712, - and €5.300, - gross per month means up to €85.000,00 per year, including all benefits, based on knowledge and experience for a 40-hour work week (scale 8).
