Details
Airbnb’s Process and Strategy Optimization (PSO) team within Fraud and Safety Operations owns and executes the operational excellence strategy for the fraud and safety investigations organization. The team drives end-to-end, scalable programs that improve quality, efficiency, user experience, and cost, enabling Airbnb to deliver on safety and trust.
Responsibilities
- Drive large-scale, cross-functional initiatives that advance strategic goals for Fraud and Safety Operations.
- Lead end-to-end process improvement efforts: business case development, measurement systems, root cause analysis, solution development and launch, and control/feedback mechanisms to ensure sustained impact.
- Translate business and operational requirements to platform product, tools, policy, engineering, and shared services partners.
- Achieve strategic alignment across stakeholders to embed operational goals in system design, roadmap prioritization, and delivery plans.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation using operational data, customer insights, and market trends.
- Thoughtful application and execution of AI into operations to minimize waste, streamline processes, and drive consistency.
- Act as subject matter expert on workflows, tools, and processes across Fraud and Safety Operations domains.
- Lead cross-functional project teams, manage dependencies, communicate risks, and ensure adoption on time and within budget.
- Champion continuous improvement and foster Lean and Six Sigma principles through training, mentoring, and hands-on leadership.
- Define and track KPIs across domains to measure impact and identify optimization opportunities.
- Promote a data-driven culture; ensure decisions are informed by robust analytics and operational insights.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field; backgrounds such as management consulting or industrial engineering preferred.
- 6+ years of experience driving operational excellence across large-scale operations with a proven track record of results.
- Demonstrated success implementing continuous improvement and operational optimization in complex, global organizations.
- Strong data-driven problem-solving skills and proven experience defining and measuring KPIs.
- Experience implementing quality assurance frameworks and process governance.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
- Strong organizational, project management, and stakeholder communication skills; ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced environments.
- Self-starter with high ownership, initiative, and autonomy.
- Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt, PMP, or comparable certification is a plus.
- Key competencies called out: executing for results, ethics and resilience, bias for action, entrepreneurial drive, stakeholder orientation, relationship building, negotiation and consensus building.
Location & Work Policy
- This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed with your manager. Candidates must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity (check Airbnb careers for excluded states).
Compensation & Benefits
- Base pay range: $106,000—$125,000 USD.
- Role may be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits. The exact base pay depends on factors such as experience, skills, and business needs.
