Details

Glean is the Work AI platform that helps everyone work smarter with AI. What began as the industry’s most advanced enterprise search has evolved into a full-scale Work AI ecosystem, powering intelligent Search, an AI Assistant, and scalable AI agents on one secure, open platform. With over 100 enterprise SaaS connectors, flexible LLM choice, and robust APIs, Glean gives organizations the infrastructure to govern, scale, and customize AI across their entire business.

This role sits at the intersection of product-led growth (PLG), platform-level activation, off-surface engagement, and broader product growth strategy. You will own how Glean turns first-touch curiosity into durable, expanding usage — designing the loops, surfaces, and experiences that drive activation, retention, and organic expansion across users and teams. You will work closely with engineering, design, data, marketing, and go-to-market partners and will have an outsized role shaping the product roadmap and the product team.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the product strategy and roadmap for Growth, translating company vision into specific bets across activation, retention, and expansion informed by funnel data and experimentation.
  • Own the PLG motion end to end: acquisition, onboarding, activation, habit formation, and self-serve expansion; design loops that turn individual adopters into team- and org-wide usage.
  • Build platform-level growth capabilities such as referrals, invitations, notifications, in-product education, and lifecycle messaging that compound across surfaces.
  • Drive off-surface growth by meeting users where they work: browser extension, email, Slack and Teams, mobile, and other entry points.
  • Partner with engineering, design, and data teams to turn ambiguous concepts into scoped products and experiments with clear user flows, interaction patterns, instrumentation, quality standards, and measurable outcomes.
  • Build a rigorous experimentation and measurement culture: define activation and retention metrics, instrument the funnel, and run A/B tests to learn and ship what moves the numbers.
  • Prioritize customer-focused work, balancing long-term platform opportunities with urgent user pain points and strategic customer asks.
  • Collaborate closely with go-to-market, marketing, solutions, and support teams to learn from real customer problems and align growth strategy with how users adopt and spread Glean.
  • Specify concrete onboarding flows, UI behavior, and adoption paths; bring a high bar for product craft and detailed product thinking.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in product management with a track record of owning and shipping growth, activation, or PLG product areas in B2B SaaS, consumer, AI, or platform products.
  • Deep fluency in growth mechanics: funnels, activation, retention, virality, and lifecycle; use data and experimentation to guide decisions.
  • Analytical fluency to define metrics, instrument funnels, and interpret results alongside engineering and data teams.
  • Strong product sense and granular product thinking; comfortable moving between strategy and detailed execution (designing onboarding flows, UI behavior, and experiments).
  • Deep interest in AI and enterprise software; ability to work in ambiguous spaces and create clarity and momentum for emerging product areas.
  • Excellent communication, ownership, cross-functional collaboration, and a learning/growth mindset.

Location & Office Policy

  • Hybrid: 4 days a week in Glean's San Francisco office.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $175,000 - $280,000 annually. Compensation will be determined by factors such as location, level, knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for variable compensation, equity, and benefits.
  • Benefits include Medical, Vision, and Dental coverage, generous time-off policy, 401(k) contribution opportunity, home office improvement stipend, annual education and wellness stipends, regular company events, and daily healthy lunches.

AI-First Mindset

  • AI fluency is core to how Glean works. As part of the interview process, candidates will complete a brief AI-focused exercise or discussion to demonstrate how they think about, design, and use AI to drive impact in the role.
