Details

You are the Product Owner accountable for our API-based payment integration propositions including related processes and applications. It concerns two teams of which one is more regulatory focussed (PSD2/PSD3/FIDA) and is more commercially focussed.

The challenge is to bring our Embedded Payments strategy into the next phase: improve how customers experience our external API propositions, scale the use of our services (e.g. via partners) and improve the breath of our services within and beyond regulatory boundaries. How do you see this happening and what will the future look like? Help making an impact for customers and develop yourself professionally and personally. Tell us your story.

Your job

As a product and delivery focussed Product Owner (PO) you will be in the lead to shape and drive our Embedded Payments objectives and associated results. This includes setting the objectives in alignment with stakeholders, shaping and prioritizing the roadmap with the teams based on selected initiatives in close alignment with the Lead Product Owner of our Embedded Payments area. Subsequently, you prioritize the backlog of the team, achieving milestones from a business and technical perspective.

From a customer journey perspective, your domain includes propositions such as the Account Information Services API, Payment Initiation Service API, Boekhoudkoppeling, Business Account Payment, Information and Notification APIs and others which can be accessed by customers through ABN AMRO’s Developer Portal. The market for Embedded Payments / Open Banking is developing strongly the coming years with additional regulatory and market initiatives which you follow with the interest to translate this into ABN AMRO decisions and actions, in close collaboration with the team and stakeholders, Lead Product Owner and IT Engineering Lead.

Finally, you play a pivotal role in aligning the objectives and initiatives across the end-to-end value chain of our propositions, including for example commercial objectives and risk & control objectives.

Working environment

The teams are part of the Embedded Payments domain of the Grid Transaction Services which is part of the product unit Transaction Banking. The ambition of Transaction Services is to improve the transaction experience, to unlock new business models and to reduce Operations & Customer Care handling whilst remaining compliant with regulatory and market standards. As Product Owner, you work closely with the other teams within the Embedded Payments domain: Bulk Payments and the Special Desk. The Special Desk is an after-sales implementation service team that supports the (technical) integration of our services within the customer environment. The transaction services are crucial for our clients to be able to operate their business and are available 24/7. The payment flows and information flows are the lifeline between our clients and the bank. Consequently, stability of our services is a fundamental part of our focus and mindset. At the same time, customer expectations and market developments drive the change roadmap and requires an active attitude where we take initiatives to add to our customers or the bank.

Your profile

You enjoy working in a complex and diverse environment. You are strong in creating clarity within the team and across stakeholders. You are keen to understand our customers’ concern and opportunity areas whilst similarly you have an affinity with technology. You know what is going on within the organization, what the business needs are and take an exemplary role in striving to reach the goals. And building on all of that, you are confident to take decisions and explain them clearly, also in cases stakeholders and/or customers are disappointed with the decision. But most importantly: you love to collaborate, make others successful and you bring your true self to work every day. Do you think you fit with us?
