We are looking for a Medior IT Platform Engineer with experience and understanding of containerization technologies, and their management in Azure from the ground up. Since this is a medior position we expect that you have room for growth and learning, but we expect at least a comfortable understanding and experience in containers in an enterprise setting.
Responsibilities
You will use Azure’s services portfolio to architect and engineer the container solutions Developers will leverage, requiring you to approach and resolve problems from the perspective of a software developer. As an Engineer, you will work with the rest of the team to execute the teams short- and long-term goals while helping formulate and defend the team's strategies and vision both internally and externally.
You will join Stratus, a platform service team working within the Financial Services Cloud Platform (FSCP) tasked with the enablement of container technology within the bank and its governance. Azure products like Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Kubernetes Platform-on-Platform (multitenancy), Azure Container Instances (ACI) and Azure Container Apps (ACA) are, or will be, enabled in a secure context which enforces basic management and guardrails through policies and automation. You will contribute by guiding and consulting customers, and by working alongside your teammates to negotiate, enable and improve technologies and guidance. You work to create and execute a governance strategy and framework in cooperation with your team members.
Requirements
Tech
- Containerization: must be interested in containers and knowledgeable about their creation, inner workings, lifecycle management and orchestration. The deeper the better. Hands-on expertise in Docker is required.
- DevOps: must feel comfortable with automation and the systems and tools used in a cloud environment (Linux, containers, Infrastructure as code, GitOps). Shift-left, service-oriented mentality and a strong will to grow and learn are necessary. Being able to create one’s own tool by programming is preferred.
- Familiarity with scripting is a must.
- Familiarity with one or more programming languages (Golang and Python preferred).
- Azure: proven experience using services and implementing solutions in Azure (+ 2 years). Microsoft Azure Certified Solution Architect certification is preferred.
- Familiarity with Azure tools is preferred (Bicep/ARM, Azure DevOps).
- Strong stakeholder management skills where you can advise and persuade internal stakeholders on containerization, orchestration, governance, and best practices.
- Must be able to act as a sparring partner and evangelist for the developer community.
- Ability to translate business requirements into solutions and implement them into services or products.
