Details
NVIDIA is seeking a Research Scientist (new PhD graduate) focused on Security and Privacy to contribute to the development of secure, private, and safe AI systems. The role emphasizes research excellence across the full hardware/software stack and depth in areas such as computer architecture, programming languages, software systems, applied cryptography, and AI/ML algorithms. NVIDIA notes its leadership in GPUs and the CUDA language and offers the opportunity to impact accelerated computing and AI system development.
Responsibilities
- Understand and analyze potential vulnerabilities and risks in future systems for AI and AI-based systems.
- Develop hardware, software, and algorithms to enable trustworthy AI systems with strong and verifiable security, privacy, and safety guarantees.
- Collaborate with diverse teams across software, hardware, research, and product groups.
- Publish original research and present at conferences and events.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience with a strong background in computer architecture, operating systems, programming languages/compilers, applied cryptography, and/or AI/ML.
- Proven track record of research excellence; strong publication, patent, and research collaboration history is a significant advantage.
- Demonstrated expertise in at least one specific security area (for example: applied cryptography, programming languages, software systems, AI/ML algorithms, computer architecture) and ability to be a go-to resource within a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience with experimental research and development.
- Experience with C, C++, Python, and/or scripting languages.
- Strong communication skills; effective and creative presentation ability is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary range: 168,000 USD - 264,500 USD (final base determined by location, experience, and internal pay equity).
