About the team

The Cross border China team at Stripe drives Stripe’s future growth engine by building relationships with prospective clients and turning them into happy Stripe users in Greater China.

What you’ll do

As a Sales Manager at Stripe, you will play an instrumental role in fueling Stripe’s growth through new customer acquisition in the small and mid-market segments. You'll lead and coach high-performing sales executives, helping them deliver on ambitious targets, as well as roll up your sleeves to work directly with prospective Stripe customers.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, develop and lead a team of sales professionals, with a particular focus on the enterprise customer segments
  • Develop the long-term vision and strategy for the team and manage day-to-day operations, with a focus on performance against key sales metrics
  • Be accountable for developing strategies, increasing revenue and new client acquisition at high rates of growth
  • Coach and guide the team in developing consultative and solution-based sales skills through all facets of the sales cycle
  • Play a personal and direct role in building and maintaining enduring customer relationships, up to C-level
  • Inspire, motivate and enable personal and career development of team members, both to promote career growth and to increase impact for Stripe
  • Work collaboratively and cross-functionally across the organisation to help shape Stripe’s products and solutions to meet customer needs. In particular, this will involve working with the extended Greater China sales team, as well as global inter-working with US, European and APAC sales
  • Participate in industry events to help support positive market awareness

Who you are

We are looking for a self-starting leader who has demonstrated success dealing with ambiguity, operating in a high-growth environment, and solving complicated problems with data and limited oversight. Ideal candidates will have management and leadership experience scaling a technology sales team, superior communication skills, and a knack for understanding unique customer needs.

Minimum requirements

  • 10+ years of sales experience and 5+ years of people management experience.
  • Experience leading sales and operations in a high-growth technology environment covering the mid-market customer segment
  • Ability to hire, train and coach a high-performance sales team
  • Ability to build strategic executive relationships with customers and industry thought leaders
  • Demonstrated passion for Stripe’s mission
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills in both Chinese and English
  • Ability to understand and articulate technical concepts, and translate them into industry- or business-relevant terms

Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. Pay and benefits

The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is S$463,700 - S$695,500. This range may change if you are hired in another location. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (“OTE”) range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
