About the team
The Startup SaaS Platform team works with European startups in one of Stripe’s must-win segments. At Stripe, SaaS platforms are companies using Stripe to embed payments and make financial services a core part of their own product, meaning their partnership with Stripe is vital to the success of their business, like Shopify, Mindbody and Lightspeed.
Saas platforms are a global priority for Stripe, and our team identifies and develops Stripe’s future strategic accounts in Europe. We identify and partner with high-potential companies, helping them leverage Stripe’s solutions to better support their users, scale globally and create new revenue streams through monetisation of payments and financial services.
What you’ll do
In this role you and your team will create partnerships between Stripe and the most innovative and fast-growing startup Saas platforms in EMEA. As a Sales Manager at Stripe, you’ll play an instrumental role in fueling Stripe’s growth in this high priority segment through expanding the base and optimising our renewals motion.
You'll lead and coach high-performing account executives, helping them deliver on ambitious targets, as well as roll up your sleeves to work directly with users and prospects. We are looking for an individual who is keen to work alongside a high-performing team of individuals to navigate complex organizations. You will also be responsible for driving the segment strategy & execution across Stripe.
Similar to founders, the segment requires you and your team to be able to pivot tactically while staying focused on the long-term goal, acquiring and activating the next cohort of top users for Stripe.
Responsibilities
- Drive sales strategy for the segment & advocate across teams to build a top class journey for SaaS Platforms
- Recruit, develop and lead a team of technically-minded sales professionals
- Help leadership to define and implement the long-term vision and strategy for the team and manage day-to-day operations, with a focus on performance against key sales metrics
- Support your team to develop and implement full sales cycle strategies for driving product adoption, net new product sales, and client retention.
- Coach and guide the team in developing consultative and solution-based sales skills through all facets of the sales cycle
- Solve complex client needs and work across product, sales, risk, and operations together with your team to improve our product
- Make sure that internal teams are set up for users’ success by coordinating with other Stripe teams such as Solution architects, SDRs, Marketing, Product and many more.

Minimum requirements
- Previous sales management experience with a track record of leading complex cross-functional working groups
- Ability to define and execute on a segment strategy alongside multiple x-functional partners including but not limited to Product, Deployment teams, Marketing
- Ability to understand and articulate complex technical concepts and ecosystems, and translate them into industry or business relevant terms
- Ability and track record of building and maintaining great relationships with technical customers
- Detail orientated leader with ability to deep dive into technical depth to formulate hypothesis and growth plans
- 8+ years of relevant sales experience
- Track record of overachieving against ambitious sales targets, with ability to effectively manage multiple metrics across a complex portfolio and providing superior customer experience
- Experience consistently forecasting and managing a high growth business for multiple quarters
- Thrives in settings with a high level of autonomy to create strategy, direction, and structure
- Ability to hire, train, and coach a high-performance sales team
- A knack for working well with a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally
- Ability and motivation to operate in a highly ambiguous and fast-paced environment
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred requirements
- Prior experience in payments
- Prior experience in a sales and/or customer-facing role at a high growth technology company
- Prior experience in working for a saas platform, marketplace or in a fast-scaling company
- Prior experience in second line management
- Interest in business models and monetisation
Hybrid work at Stripe
Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.
Pay and benefits
The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is €196,700 - €295,100. This range may change if you are hired in another location. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (“OTE”) range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
Specific benefits and details about what compensation is included in the salary range listed above will vary depending on the applicant’s location and can be discussed in more detail during the interview process. Benefits/additional compensation for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; retirement plans; health benefits; and wellness stipends.
