Details
We are looking for an experienced AI Engineer who will design and deliver Artificial Intelligence solutions that improve our customers' experience and enable informed, data-driven decision making. You will work with cutting-edge technologies to build pragmatic, performant AI solutions and collaborate with Data Scientists, other AI Engineers, Machine Learning Operations Engineers, and teams across Collibra.
This is a hybrid role based in our Raleigh office. Our hybrid model means you’ll work from the office at least two days each week.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the larger AI/ML landscape, including emerging techniques and current state-of-the-art approaches
- Transform prototypes into pragmatic, production-ready solutions which solve impactful business problems
- Create, operationalize, and support AI/ML models and visualizations to power actionable value and insights
- Evaluate algorithmic results for quality, adaptability, and efficiency
- Contribute to evolving platforms for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning capabilities in support of Collibra’s data products
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers on AI best practices
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience delivering production-grade AI/ML projects related to business functions, incorporating advanced techniques (e.g., LLM-based applications, RAG systems, NLP, neural networks, recommendation engines)
- Experience with SQL and relational databases; query authoring and working familiarity with a variety of databases (e.g., time series, graph, vector)
- Built and deployed production code in Python with associated AI modules (examples listed: LangChain, LangGraph, Pandas, Numpy, Tensorflow, etc.)
- Experience with model evaluation, testing frameworks, and validation methodologies
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent related working experience is required

You are expected to be deeply technical, analytical, product-minded, able to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, and able to work with cross-functional teams. The posting emphasizes cutting through hype to build maintainable, performant solutions and a passion for mathematical principles behind Generative AI and LLMs.
Measures of success (reporting to Senior Manager of AI Engineering)
- Within first month: familiarize with existing data platform, products, architecture, and Collibra platform ecosystem
- Within third month: begin delivering new AI/ML features into Collibra’s SaaS platform
- Within sixth month: operationalize AI products into production environments and contribute to AI roadmap
Compensation
- Standard base salary range: 152,000 - 190,000 per year. Salary offers are based on factors including experience, skills, and location.
- In addition to base salary: bonus potential, equity for eligible roles, a Flex Fund monthly stipend, pension/401k plans, and more.
