The Consumer Safety team's mission is to empower users with tools to manage their experience on Reddit, enabling safer experiences and flexibility in defining safety.

Responsibilities

• Build new and more powerful safety experiences and reporting tools for Redditors
• Work cross-functionally with product, design, and other engineering teams to execute product and business strategies and build novel products and features
• Contribute to the full development cycle: technical design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch
• Review code, design docs, and provide feedback on product specs and mocks
• Continuously improve technical and non-technical skills
• Communicate effectively within the team and across disciplines
• Participate actively in planning and team meetings, including scoping, estimating, and prioritizing work
• Foster a healthy engineering culture and collaborate with other engineers

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent technical expertise
• 5+ years professional software development experience developing user-facing native Android mobile applications using Java or Kotlin
• Strategic thinker passionate about scalable, well-designed software with global impact
• Proven track record leading large cross-team and cross-functional projects
• Experience with modern Android frameworks such as Jetpack Compose and Kotlin coroutines
• Entrepreneurial spirit: self-directed, innovative, quick to act in fast-paced environments
• Experience collaborating with design, product, and data teams to deliver great user experiences

Salary

Base pay range: $190,800 - $267,100 USD per year
