The Quality Engineering team ensures the delivery of high-quality software efficiently through test automation, tools, and frameworks. They focus on creating highly testable, fault-tolerant systems across Airbnb’s extensive codebase.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain automation coverage, test tools, environments, and frameworks.
- Write and test product and system code.
- Participate in design reviews aimed at architecting testable systems.
- Improve modularity and testability of code.
- Build, maintain, and support quality of product workflows by developing and executing automated tests.
- Collaborate closely with product engineering teams to ensure robust test coverage.
- Support testing infrastructure, applications, environments, and tools, leveraging expertise in distributed systems.
- Drive innovation, cross-collaboration, and growth across multiple teams.
- Ensure code quality, commitment to engineering craft, and operational excellence.
- Scale distributed applications for a highly-available 24x7 environment.
- Work with cross-functional teams including design, product, data science, and research.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent.
- 5+ years of mobile development experience or 2+ years with a PhD in a high-growth tech environment.
- Proficient in Kotlin, Java, and Espresso.
- Expertise in developing testability and test automation frameworks for Android applications at large scale.
- Experience developing or testing distributed systems.
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Hands-on technical leadership, project management, and roadmap definition.
- Skilled in solving ambiguous problems and integrating across teams with significant impact.
Location
- US Remote Eligible (must reside in a state where Airbnb has a registered entity).
- Occasional office work or offsite attendance may be required.
Benefits
- Base pay ranging from $191,000 to $223,000 USD.
