Details

Reddit is expanding its Marketing & Business Development Data Science team to scale marketing efforts, improve measurement, and enable data-driven decisions. This role is remote within the United States and will lead a team of data scientists focused on building data foundations, causal measurement, and decision-driving insights for marketing and product teams.

Team focus

The team's work centers on three pillars:

  • Data Foundations: build and maintain a canonical single source of truth for marketing performance and attribution (ETLs, data aggregations, reporting dashboards) to support campaign analyses, experimentation, and LTV modeling.
  • Causal Measurement & Metrics: define and deploy causal decision frameworks and models to measure campaign quality and ROI (including incremental/predictive LTV models).
  • Decision-Making Insights: partner with Marketing and Product to translate data into clear, actionable recommendations for budget allocation and identifying high-value segments.

Responsibilities

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of data scientists focused on Marketing & Business Development.
  • Serve as a thought partner to cross-functional leaders (Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing) shaping roadmap and strategy through analytics.
  • Lead initiatives to quantify incremental lift from marketing spend and prevent budget on non-incremental channels; develop and deploy incremental/predictive LTV models.
  • Oversee establishment of measurement frameworks, including experimental design and causal inference methods, to evaluate brand initiatives and ensure consistent metrics across the organization.
  • Drive adoption of strategic and tactical recommendations to maximize product and marketing value.
  • Ensure data quality and take oversight of ETLs, reporting dashboards, and data aggregations required for tracking and ML model development.
  • Lead initiatives to enable analytics self-serve capabilities for cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Experience driving product strategy and roadmaps through analytics, ideally for consumer technology products and marketplaces.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience as a people manager, having built and developed product analytics/data science teams (up to ~10 data scientists).
  • Teams you led should have expertise in causal inference, A/B testing/experimentation, and metric definition & governance.
  • Experience enabling analytics self-serve for cross-functional partners.
  • Strong communication skills; able to explain complex, nuanced concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python or R for hands-on analysis; willing to work side-by-side with the team when needed.
  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude, or similar LLMs) to improve productivity, code quality, and problem solving.
  • Collaborative attitude, natural curiosity, and evidence-backed product judgment.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive healthcare benefits and income replacement programs
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Global benefits covering workspace, professional development, caregiving support
  • Family planning support and gender-affirming care
  • Mental health & coaching benefits
