Do you want to shape how AI transforms the banking industry? Are you passionate about advanced machine learning, LLMs, and intelligent data products? This role helps accelerate the AI revolution within I&T / Change Management & Consultancy / Enterprise Enabling Data Domain at ABN AMRO.
Responsibilities
- Design, train, and evaluate advanced machine learning models, including generative AI and LLM‑based solutions
- Explore and apply complex datasets, metadata structures, knowledge graphs, and unstructured data
- Develop scalable, production‑ready AI products using Azure, Databricks, and Spark
- Translate business questions into AI opportunities and communicate insights clearly to stakeholders
- Drive innovation by experimenting with generative AI, agentic systems, vector‑based retrieval, and automated model development
- Collaborate with Machine Learning Engineers, Data Engineers, Data Analysts, and Domain Experts to embed AI into business and IT processes
- Advise stakeholders on responsible AI, data quality, explainability and model governance
Working environment
You will join the Enterprise Enabling Data Domain, a cross‑functional team delivering Business Insights and AI solutions across the I&T organisation. The team (~18 professionals) includes Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers collaborating with functions such as CDO, COO, P&T, Procurement, CIOs, CISO and bank‑wide programs. The environment encourages innovation, experimentation and continuous improvement; the atmosphere is informal, open and learning‑focused.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience
- Proven experience with machine learning, LLMs and generative or agentic AI
- Hands‑on experience with Azure Machine Learning, Databricks, and Spark
- Proficient in Python and experience with modern ML/AI libraries and frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, scikit‑learn)
- Experience with MLOps, model deployment, monitoring, and automated pipelines
- Experience with innovation‑driven projects and emerging AI techniques
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of modern AI/ML research, tooling and best practices
- Fluent in English
Desirable:
- Strong stakeholder management and advisory skills
- Ownership mindset and passion for production‑ready solutions
- Experience working in multicultural and interdisciplinary teams
- Understanding of responsible AI principles: fairness, transparency and governance
- Experience with big data ecosystems
