Senior Data Scientist

Data is critical to Coinbase's strategy in optimizing financial operations and enhancing decision-making. In this role, you will work closely with Finance, Product, and Engineering teams to support cash flow processes including payments, cash reconciliations, and asset safeguarding. You will gather financial data from various sources to develop advanced data models and pipelines driving analytics for cash flow understanding.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering on new initiatives supporting product launches and business growth
• Extract financial data and insights in cooperation with Accounting, Treasury, and Finance, providing data-driven recommendations to improve efficiency
• Act as a strategic partner designing, scoping, executing, testing, and implementing data and reporting solutions
• Develop and maintain data pipelines and models powering dashboards and data products
• Work with Data and Engineering teams to scale platforms through system improvements and automation
• Create interactive dashboards and visualizations presenting financial insights
• Define and execute scalable roadmaps with peers and stakeholders

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Self-starter, multitasker, and highly collaborative across cross-functional teams
• Strong experience in data processing (ETL), advanced SQL skills, and proficiency in scripting languages, preferably Python
• Experience building data pipelines and using orchestration tools like Apache Airflow
• Good understanding of finance principles and products within Accounting and Treasury domains
• Capability to create documentation for new data projects and foster team collaboration

• Bachelor’s degree in Financial Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
