Do you like working on technology and yearn to be challenged in a fast paced R&D environment? If yes, then this captivating role will not disappoint! NVIDIA is now looking for a motivated Engineering Technician for NVIDIA's on-premise, private cloud infrastructure. In this role, you will be faced with the challenge of providing and maintaining a compute farm of systems which includes Builders, Packagers, and Testers that act as a test-bed for our developers worldwide to test various NVIDIA hardware and software prior to release. The environment huge, the scale massive, and the ask enormous! We need YOU to help US maintain and drive our world-class DCs/Labs to produce timely, deterministic results for our Engineers and expectant users worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Working closely and pro-actively with other engineering teams such as system architects, chip and board designers, software/firmware engineers, HW/SW QA teams and Applications engineering teams to drive design, development, debug and release of next generations products.
  • Maintaining and running a large Compute Farm of Builders, Packagers, Testers, and Core Infrastructure.
  • Achieving and maintaining Service Level Agreement (SLAs) and Turn Around Time (TAT).
  • Participating in systems deployment and technology bring-ups.
  • Performing daily systems recovery and taking part in qualifications.
  • Managing inventory and life-cycle of ALL NVIDIA assets within the DCs/labs.
  • Detailing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and collecting data for critical execution metrics through documentation.
  • Adhering to DC/Lab standards and best practices for maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe environment.

Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technical Major (or equivalent experience).
  • Ability to perform independently and autonomously without requiring supervision.
  • Effective collaboration with varied teammates, including technicians, engineers, and systems administrators.
  • A love for working with close-knit, multi-disciplinary teams in a high-speed environment.
  • 1-2 years (or more) working in data centers or large engineering labs.
  • Experience with PCBs such as PC Desktop, Workstations, Server motherboards, GPUs, NICs, etc.
  • Background with system deployment and related technology bring-ups and deployments (GPUs).
  • Familiarity with multiple OEM systems, Windows, Linux, Mac OS, TCP/IP networking, DHCP, DNS, rack power, PDUs, and cabling.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; able to explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite or Google Docs; experience with JIRA, ServiceNow, and DCIM/CMDB tools.
