Information about the position
Vinted’s Finance team is in charge of producing transparent, high-quality financial accounts, as well as contributing towards sustainable operations and company growth. To keep up with the rapid advancement and increasing complexity of our financial operations, the finance department is looking for a new member.
As a Senior ESG Controller, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring Vinted's compliance with the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) requirements. You will be a key member of the Group Finance team, reporting directly to the Financial Reporting Manager. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Vinted Sustainability team and other stakeholders across the organization.
In this position, you’ll
- Stay updated on CSRD and related regulatory requirements to ensure appropriate disclosures by monitoring relevant reporting practices.
- Conduct regular benchmarking against industry peers to identify best practices and opportunities for improvement in ESG reporting and performance.
- Prepare and implement a robust CSRD reporting framework to meet compliance needs.
- Provide regular updates on compliance requirements to the management and Board of Directors.
- Lead the coordination of consultants for the Double Materiality Assessment scheduled for 2025 and manage updates in the future as necessary.
- Work closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment on reporting requirements, maintain data quality, and implement necessary controls.
- Drive the alignment of non-financial KPIs, those in scope with CSRD reporting directives.
- Manage CSRD-required reporting as part of the annual financial reporting process.
- Collaborate with auditors to ensure reporting accuracy and integrity.
- Oversee the preparation and delivery of ESG-related reports to investors.
About you
- Proven experience in ESG reporting, financial reporting, sustainability, or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, environmental science, sustainability, business administration, or a related field.
- In-depth understanding of ESG regulations, standards, and best practices, with a particular focus on the CSRD requirements.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects, coordinate stakeholders, and meet deadlines effectively.
- Keen attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and integrity of reports and data.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset, capable of working with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex sustainability concepts to diverse audiences, including senior management and external stakeholders.
- Excellent at communicating in spoken and written English
