This role is a PCIe Firmware Engineer position acting as a critical link between product teams, QA, applications and the PCIe firmware design team. You will investigate and resolve complex PCIe firmware issues for customers, collaborate with chip design, software and architecture engineers, and translate field feedback into product improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate, debug, and resolve challenging PCIe firmware issues for key customers and serve as a trusted technical expert.
  • Collaborate with Chip Design, Software, and Architecture engineering teams to find root causes and develop robust, long-term solutions.
  • Translate customer needs and field data into actionable feedback that shapes product development.
  • Contribute to team processes and knowledge base; share learnings across teams.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in embedded firmware development, with a deep understanding of PCIe.
  • Strong foundation in computer architecture, operating systems, and object-oriented programming.
  • Proactive, curious, and passionate about continuous learning and problem-solving.
  • Clear communication skills for explaining complex technical issues to customers and engineering peers.
  • Experience using scripting languages such as Python or Bash to automate tasks.

Ways to Stand Out

  • Previous customer-facing or application engineering experience.
  • Direct experience with PCIe switch architecture and firmware.
  • Deep knowledge of hardware verification concepts and tools (C++, Jenkins).
  • Expertise in networking protocols and the Linux operating system.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary ranges (determined by location, experience, and internal pay equity):
    • Level 4: 184,000 USD - 287,500 USD
    • Level 5: 224,000 USD - 356,500 USD
